I heard there is new year snow but I’m digging in deep to really find it! Actually, I have my head in the snow all the time. Do you know why? Cold air makes odor/scent fall. Since snow is made of ice particles, the odor falls through the snow down to the ground which is where I’m trying to get my nose. Mom has taken us tracking in the snow and this is what we do every few feet. We pay no attention to the actual human tracks.
Anyway, enough of the lesson on how odor travels and on to Olivia who is racing around the yard at high speed as always. She loves to run fast and bound like a deer through the snow.
When I see something interesting I freeze as I am doing here. Most likely I saw a squirrel on the neighbors play set.
While I was just minding my own business I stumbled upon this laughing hyena coming out from the pine tree. It would be nice if she would share whatever is so funny!
It appears that Olivia had her head in the snow too. Nice snow mustache you have there, girl.
Sometimes there are things happening on the other end of the yard and a guy needs to race over and check it out.
I’m not alone, here comes Olivia too.
Bailie isn’t much for running in the snow these days but she does keep tabs on us from afar. She enjoys hanging out and doing some sniffing. She too has a bit of a snow beard going on.
I guess if there was a contest, I would win with my snow puss! Sticking your head in the snow really gets the snow to stick on a guy’s face. Mom says it looks cute, so I guess I’m fine with it too. We seem to get fresh snow every morning this week, let’s hope it keeps doing it. Everything is so nice and white, we really love it!
I’m joining my friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard for their Nature Friday blog hop.

What a great time you are all having in your snow! I love burying my nose in the snow too!
There are such good smells down under the snow!
We always enjoy seeing you romping in the snow!!
xoxo,
Rosy & Sunny
And we sure all enjoy romping around in our snow. This winter has been good so far.
That last picture is a first place photo contest wnner
Awww, thank you. I like my frosty hound look.
Great photos of the three of you. The snow must be well packed – you are all not sinking down as you walk!
We’ve had some drizzle and lots of heavy wind so it makes a crunchy top on it.
We haven’t had a good snowfall since the night of the day after Bogie died. And I used to feel like it wouldn’t bother me if I never had to shovel another inch of it. But as Zen and Zoey grow up, I miss being able to watch my dogs play in the snow. 😢 Thank doG I recorded videos of Ducky, Shadow, and Callie playing in it when they were here.
Have fun you three! And your mom too!!
We’ve had some bad snow years and it makes Mom sad as she too loves the snow and we love to play in it. So far this year isn’t too bad. We’ll wish for you to get some snow.
“What a great way to have fun ~ sweet photos of the three of you enjoying the snow ~ hugs,

We all love wintertime!
Nelson…OMDs I had no idea “Cold air makes odor/scent fall. Since snow is made of ice particles, the odor falls through the snow down to the ground which is where I’m trying to get my nose. ”
But one thing I do know is you and Olivia know how to enjoy every single moment of your day.
BOL BOL with snow on your beard you have your very own hydration
Hugs cecilia
We are thankful we are designed to be fine in the cold and snow, no coats or sissy stuff. We love wintertime! Mom has learned a lot about how odor travels through tracking and all our sniff sports. In the heat odor spreads so the scent cones get really big and odor rises.
WHAT great snow photos!! You ALL look “dashing” in this snow!
And we do dash through the snow as dashing hounds.
Y’all sure do enjoy your happy snow romps!
The cold and snow energizes us!
Looks like winter is firmly in your region. We’re a bit jealous and wish it’d visit us. Love the snow ‘staches! Enjoy the first weekend of 2026!
We are super happy to have had snow for about a month now. Sadly the temps go up to above freezing every ten days or so which melts snow, causes ice and makes a mess, but we are still happy to have a nice snow base.
Fun collection of snow-pups … but I became a “laughing hyena” at yours …
LOL, Bailie can be the funniest just being her silly self.
We love seeing in the snow! So snow here. Can you believe we’re expecting 70° on day this week? Crazy! Smooches to you snowy snooters❣️😘❤️ Kit, Kat, Rocky & Cali
Edits: We love seeing YOU in the snow! NO snow here! 😉
Oh dear, we are dreading it being in the mid 30’s. We want the cold and snow to stay for a few months.
