With my birthday fast approaching, Mom took me party dessert shopping. We each get to go to the Three Dog Bakery each year to choose a dessert for our birthday party. It is one of our favorite parts of our birthdays!
The store is always amazing with all the stuff to see and smell, and we get to taste some things too. They have rearranged the store since the last time we were there. This low hanging basket of treats caught my nose right as I walked in the door.
All the bones and rawhides are now in the back of the store. It is probably a good idea since they are not really good for dogs and we are not allowed to have them. I still do enjoy giving the selection a good sniff over, though.
The no hides which are like rawhides but are not rawhide are also pretty yummy smelling. Mom bought them for us one time but we were not thrilled so she hasn’t bought them again. They do have a nice smell, though.
I checked out one of the two bakery cases to see what might work for my birthday. The problem I have is finding something with green. If I had Olivia’s birthday in March it would be easier because of St Patrick’s Day but I have winter where everything is in blue.
I decided to ask the baker about a few of the desserts I was considering and how green would work or not work with them.
It is always so complicated with flavors, style, and green. I needed to clear my head and nose, so I went back to the no hide rack to sniff and think for a bit.
Mom and I discussed the best options and I made my decision. “Hey, lady, I’m ready to put in my order!” We got it all squared away and Mom paid for it, so it is a done deal. Now we just have to pick it up in time for my party! I picked out three treats to take home for us to eat right away and then we left. I love that place!
My GBGV Life is happy, so we’re joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!

What a fun trip for you and we can’t wait to see what you have chosen for your big day, Nelson!
It is one of the highlights of birthday week at our house. Mom and I keep my decision a secret until my party.
we bet green goes with all good things and we are sure you found the best snacks for your party
It’s hard to get green this time of year as everything is blue for winter but I always manage to get something with green.
Awww I can’t wait to see what Nelson picked out for his birthday!
I can’t wait to eat it!
Quite sure you made excellent choices … going for the green. A wonderful color choice by the way … natural as in nature, a “go go” color, green is bright, happy and a winner — just like YOU!
Awww, that is so nice. Green is hard to get at the dog bakery because they only use natural ingredients but every year we manage to get something with green for my special day.
We can imagine all the delicious smells in that place…YUM!
Can’t wait to see what dessert you picked!

The place is really to drool for and then when you get samples, oh boy!
Can’t wait to see what you picked.
I think it is going to be a winner, but we have never had a bad dessert from the bakery.
That sounds like my kind of place!! Awesome post! Can’t wait to see what you picked! your friend Chester
You would love it. They sell treats, toys, chews, even collars, bandanas and neckties.
That store always looks so amazing, no wonder you pups love to shop there!
It is amazing, smells great and is full of food and tasty treats. We love it!
Oh how fun. Can’t wait to see what you picked for your party. It’s always delicious.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches to all the pups and a big hug to your mom. ♥
I think everything they sell is yummy so I don’t worry much about ever having a bad dessert.

It is going to be a tasty dessert and my siblings will love it too!
Nelson I do so love this very special treat each of you do for your bday. I look forward to seeing what your expert nose and taste buds selected
Hugs cecilia
It’s always hard to choose. Mom tells me to start by deciding if it will be individual treats or a cake and then go from there. I did and you will see what I picked after my party.
We know you have picked out a super tasty birthday treat!
I can hardly wait to dig into it!
Oh Nelson, thank you for taking us along on your trip to Three Dog Bakery! You are so adorable, Mom just wants to squeeeeze you❣️ Kit, Kat, Rocky & Cali
Awww…I am a big fan of cuddling. I like to cuddle with my mom a lot, give hugs, lay on top of her, stuff like that.
I can tell you love it! Waiting to see what they can come up with that is GREEN
They are really good about working with me to get green. It may not be lime green but green.
I like the place, and I’ve never even been there! It would be fun to go to such a place and get a good treat for the several dogs in my life, none of which are mine but all of which I love.
And they have a huge variety of dog bakery treats as well as the other treats in the store. It is fabulous and it’s hard to even focus with all the yummy things.
Nelson looks like a very seasoned shopper. We had a Three Dog Bakery but it has been replaced by a very similar concept, jut a different name. Occasionally, I will stop in and pick up a treat for Lucy. Since it is just off the square and there is a ton of construction going on downtown, making parking a problem, I rarely take Lucy with me. Although I’m sure she would enjoy the adventure.
Mom always takes us for our birthday week to pick out our party dessert. It is a really nice bakery and we hope they are doing well so they don’t go away.
We know you guys worked together like the great team you are to come up with the ‘pawfect’ cake.
It’s a project but we always manage to find something that looks good and tastes even better. It’s nice they do special orders.
