Last weekend at Gramma’s house, Mom took me for a nice walk to check the melting snow in Hilloway park. They have done a lot of work in the park clearing trees but some still are lying around. I find them fun to climb on or jump over.
Some parts of the woods still had a lot of snow but it was more like slush and ice.
This is in contrast to the part of the woods that has a lot of pine trees. They create heat and melt things much faster. All that is left there is ice where the walking trail is.
It is pretty quiet in the woods at this park but I did hear something and had to keep my eyes peeled in case it was danger. You never know what it could be, a tree, animal, person?
Mom and I got some good exercise and fresh air before heading back to Grammas. I enjoy playing on the downed trees but I sure was a dirty mess when we finally arrived back at the house. Mom had to really towel me off as I was dripping gunk is what she told me. Melting snow is always messy but it has to happen. Maybe we will get some new snow, but it doesn’t look good.
I’m joining my friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard for their Nature Friday blog hop.

Have fun balancing and walking along your downed tree, Olivia!
It’s fun finding ways to exercise and challenge ones self on a walk sometimes.
oh and it seems the sund came to watch you while eggs ercising… super
Exercising in the woods on a walk is a lot of fun I think.
A couple of those photos are stunning! You had a lovely day out.
It was a good day for a walk in the woods.

We always love the weekend since Mom doesn’t have to be at her desk so much.
We are getting more Sunday and Monday. I know you love it but I’m done with Winter.
Sorry for you. What a waste of good snow in the city like that.
I didn’t know that about Pine trees! The more you know…
🙂
Yep, it’s true. In our yard the snow always melts under and then around them. It’s also why critters like to live under them.
OH my I wonder what lovely scents will be emerging as the snow melts.
Hugs Cecilia
Mom isn’t impressed as we will walk with our noses down for a while when spring hits.
The forest is so beautiful, even in the melting snow!

It’s always a good place for walks as long as it isn’t really muddy.
YOU have all the fun!!!
We all enjoy getting all the fun we can.
I woods walk might be better in warmer weather me thinks!
We love winter walking since it is not so warm. Our furs keep us warm.
Getting messy can be fun, but then there’s the cleaning off. Oh, well!
Yeah, I was a dirt bag after walking but it was still fun despite the mess in my furs.
Welcome to the season of slush and mud. It’s hard to keep one’s tootsies clean this time of year.
If it was only our paws but it goes up our legs and covers our undercarriages too.
