Saturday was a mommy and me day with shopping at dog friendly Scheels, and then a walk at Bryant Lake Regional Park. Mom has been to the dog park in the winter, but never the actual park.
The first thing we found out is that they don’t plow the walking trails and most of the parking lots are not plowed either. It didn’t stop us as there isn’t a ton of snow and there are plenty of trampled trails to walk on.
No surprise, Mom had us walking at the beach area. No dogs allowed but she said it doesn’t apply to us in the winter and no one is there to stop us anyway. So, off we went wandering the beach and picnic area.
The lake is still frozen but there were not many people crazy enough to go out on it, thankfully. With the warm weather we had for a few days, who knows how the ice is. Most likely those going on the ice will be swimming in the water rather than fishing on some ice.
Not much was happening at the boat launch area either. It truly is nice to go to the beach in the winter when I can be on the beach and no one is around. We are not fans of crowds.
Next we headed along the beach towards the woods where there is a trail under the snow. Is anyone interested in paddle boating? I think I have found all the paddle boats if you would like one.
We continued up the hill to another picnic area. What we really would like to know is, do people really use all the picnic areas at this park? It seems like way too many to us!
Well, that is about the extent of our walking at the beach and in the woods. Maybe we will come back some day when the trails are not snow covered and see how that is. For now, it was a fun time and we headed off to Gramma’s house to get some snacks and warm up. Oh yes, I almost forgot, my beard seemed to be a real snow magnet at this park!
My GBGV Life is happy, so we’re joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!

Mom has never experienced snow on the beach before. At least when it melts, it doesn’t make mud. What a beautiful walk for you, Olivia!
It’s the best time of year for us to go since no one is there and the no dogs allowed isn’t enforced. Since we are not into swimming, no water is no problem.
it is a great place… and now all things sleep under a white blanket
While I sneak around on all the beaches 😉
You had the park all to yourselves for a nice exploration. Hopefully, Gramma had some great snacks for you!
She always has a box of cookies that we don’t have at home so it is a nice treat!
The day was clear, crunchy and crisp. OMDs no lifeguard sign should have said no Plowing service.
I know you and Mom had a lovely day just ‘being together
Hugs cecilia
We love hanging out together. It was nice having the park to ourselves too.
I love the beach when it is snow covered. So peaceful.
Peaceful, dogs can be on it and no other people around. Perfect!
Well Done, Olivia! Always wanted a private beach to romp on/in
It’s the best time to go to the beach because no one is there to tell us what we can or can’t do.
What a wonderful walk, Winter at the beach is the best!
xoxo,
Rosy & Sunny
We love it since it is all for us. I’m not a swimmer, so I don’t need the water.
It sure looks snowy and cold there. I’ll bet is really is nice in the Spring and Summer!
It probably is nice but way too crowded. We will take a quiet winter walk there instead.
Beautiful area and I wish I had been with you. Great shots.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches to the pups and a big hug to mom. ♥
It was very pretty and super peaceful.
Great photos of you sweet doggie even with the icicle beard ~ great place to walk ~ our kind of place too ~ hugs

It is obvious I was sniffin as I was walking I guess.
I loved taking an outing with you! Looks like you had lots of fun. It was cool seeing the snow covered beach! Happy Tuesday!
We love winter beaches since no one is there and it is so peaceful.
This was a fun visit, it’s nice to get out of the house in winter, especially if you love snow.
We love winter and so does Mom. It is our favorite season.
You are an excellent snow dog
I do love the snow.
That’s quite a bit of white stuff still. All we have is brown, brown and more brown. 🙁 Enjoy it while you can.
It will be melting soon as it is getting warm again. Back on the roller coaster.
