Olivia and I traveled to Louisiana two weeks ago for my first Summit Trial in nose work. Neither of us had been to that state before so it was kind of exciting. Hammond, about an hour north of New Orleans is where we landed.
Upon checking into our hotel we found out the other name for this southern state.
The first night we went hunting for things Mom had found on line and we wanted to see. Fall in love with Hammond is one of those items. Right next to it is a really big, bright mural.
This curved mural with the letters spelling Hammond is the thing Mom wanted to see most and we managed to find it.
Olivia visited a lot of states in the south in December 2021 when she and Madison went to the FastCAT Invitational in Orlando. I have not gone south much. For me Arkansas is a new state I’m adding to my list.
Next comes Tennessee, another new state for me. I think we were in Tennessee for about ten minutes but my paws hit the ground so it counts!
Mississippi is the next state we passed through and it too is a new one for me. We drove for quite a long time in that state. The Welcome Center is super fancy too!
Last but definitely not least, we landed in Louisiana which has a nice sign at their Welcome Center. I visited four new states and Olivia visited one new one on this trip. Watch out sis, I’m catching up to you with the states!
What was Bailie up to while we were gone? Lots of napping.
Sometimes she was hanging out with the cat where she was staying too. I think she was waiting for us to return by watching out the front window.
All in all, it was a fun trip and the weather was great the entire trip. Now we are looking forward to our next trip.

It isn’t as far as other places we have been like Maine. We love seeing and smelling new places.
Gosh, you’ll be heading to Georgia in a week or so to show us how you both sniff! I can’t wait !! I’m hoping my fast CAT time that week will be better than last year. Lydia
Next Monday we start our drive. We are both doing 4 barn hunt runs and Olivia is running CAT. We are excited to see how it all goes in Perry.
wow that is so great to discover your wonderful land with you…and we love the state walls… it is something what shows how much the good people love their states…
Most people do love where they live here unlike when Mom was in Germany and people only complained. She never understood that.
You clearly have been to more states than I have. I most start during my tours. Can I take Bailie with me.
Bailie is thrilled to stay home but she still has twenty four states mainly from her younger years when she hated the car but was not as bad as these days.

Mom loves to travel with us. It is sad Bailie doesn’t travel, but she has never wanted to so she is happiest at home.
Well done! We love the murals you always find! Guess what? Mom went on a trip without me! But! I got to stay with my aunt and uncle and it was AWESOME. I missed mom but I was a good boy and had a good time. Thanks for a great post! Your friend Chester
Glad you had a good time with your aunt and uncle. Mom never seems to travel without us and we are fine with that. She always researches where we are going to see if there are interesting things we need to see on the way or when we get there. Have a fun week!

Mom would love to travel around with us all the time but something about the money thing means she has to be home working sometimes too. Travel is fun for us, just sad Bailie doesn’t travel.

Bailie seems to get sad after several days but there is nothing we can do about that since we are traveling. It is better for her than being with us as the car really is hard on her.
Love all your photos – I agree with Bailie, there is something terribly upsetting with being a car, although I love being new places once we get there.
Yep, she loves hotels and being in new places but not the car. It is so sad.

We didn’t spend a lot of time in Arkansas but we were more on the far east side.

We go a lot further than that! Maine was a bigger trip as was Florida back in 2021. It’s fun to travel so we don’t mind.
