Humans wonder, what are dogs texting? We share a cellphone with our mom but we have our own texting abbreviations and she doesn’t always know what we are saying. Today I’m sharing a few of our favorite ones.
- HAE – howling at everything (this is total Nelson, always howling loudly and proudly)
- OMIA – owner missing in action
- RTW – real tail wagger
- OMD – oh my dog
- HMTO – howling my tail off
- RIS – rabbit in sight
- OMD – oh my dog
- WTF – where’s the food
- MMM – missing my mom (one I use a lot when Mom isn’t home)
- PLC – panting like crazy
- BOTS – bring on the snacks
- GFAR – going for a ride (Olivia and Nelson love this one)
- SMB – sniff my butt
- RMFBO – racing my furry behind off ( Olivia loves this one)
- YASB – you are so busted
- ST – sniffing time
Hope these help you understand what your dog is texting about. It seems obvious to us but humans think differently, I guess!
My GBGV Life is happy, so we’re joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!

I might not be able to understand your text, but I can say you look beyond adorable
Thank you. We dogs have our own texting system.
The only one we use is OMD and we don’t text it. You are very talented, Bailie!
LOL, OMD comes in handy for a lot of things, not just texting.
where is the food is the best… so it seems we speak the same language like our mama with the wtf hehehehe
Pawfect!
We like our abbreviations.
ILU. I love you
That’s a great one!
Mama says thanks for the translation…she wondered what we were up to BOL

Humans just don’t understand us sometimes!
These are excellent!! Our favorites: BOTS and GFAR. And I am going to add GFAW (going for a walk!). Thanks for the dictionary. CYA! your friend Chester

It’s nice to have the short cuts rather than trying to type things out with our paws.
You’re so adorable and thanks for letting us know your abbreviations. It’s good to know what you’re saying.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches to the pups and a big hug to mom. ♥
It is really helpful for Mom so she knows what we are up to.
Those make perfect sense to me, bravo!
I bet you kitties have your own codes.
Thanks for the translations, now we need for a kitty to translate for us what they’re up to.
If only we still had our cats, they could help.
Wilson shares some of those texts, now I can honestly say I understand what he’s trying to communicate! Thanks for sharing this valuable info.
Humans have totally different ones that we don’t really understand.
