We are spending four days at the Georgia National Fairgrounds at the Peach Blossom Cluster. It is a huge dog show with all kinds of sports and things going on as well. The weather has been perfect so far, sunny and not too warm.
Besides the show ring, there is barn hunt, dock diving, CAT, FastCAT, rally, and agility. It is a big place and day one was very confusing. Now we know the lay of the fairgrounds and can get around easily. Mom is here to do a seminar on nose work for our breed. We entered some sports as long as we are here. There will be posts on those next week.
Barn hunt was in a big barn building. This was part of it but no runs in this area.
We found this statue outside the main show hall. It is called the Mule and Tenant Farmer.
Above is the plaque with the meaning of the statue.
You know I am the snack monster, so finding these food places really got the drool going! This one was closed but ones closer to where the events are held were open.
They have this pretty pond with a fountain too. Behind us on the other side of the pond is the field where FastCAT and CAT are being run. We are super busy and getting a lot of walking in too. Soon we will be back home but this place has sure been fun for a few days.
I’m joining my friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard for their Nature Friday blog hop.

This looks like a fun place to be! Too bad you couldn’t order some fries and tenders, Nelson. Have a wonderful time!
Mom is always making sure I am not snarfing up anything on the ground!
aww what a wonderful place… we would love to be 9in a barn hunt… habe a wonderful time there
We think that would be fun to watch!
Love the sign “Doggy Fun Zone”!
It is a fun place with lots of dogs having fun.
What a nice place to visit, we can’t wait to hear more on how your trials went (although Mama has been peeking at FB 😉
xoxo,
Rosy & Sunny
Hopefully she doesn’t tell you but even if she does, there will be more on it next week!
Sounds like a great few days
Lots going on and so many GBGVs. Mom says it makes her happy seeing so many in one place and we like to meet them all.
OMDs you found some most gorgeous nature and fun at the Peach Blossom Cluster.
You are there at the purrfect time before the hot arrives
hugs Cecilia
We leave tomorrow and they say tomorrow is when the heat is turned on outside.
That sure looks like some amazing place, especially with you two there!
It’s very interesting with lots of places to walk.
I’ll bet your mom is a good teacher. It sounds like other GBGV owners are starting to want to train their dogs like you, that’s a good thing.
We really hope some people start their GBGVs in scent sports. It would be so fun to see other GBGVs at trials.
You are such good travelers! My mom was wondering if your mom
taught the seminar? She is so experienced! Hope all
is going well. Your friend Chester
Yes, Mom gave a presentation on nose/scent work for a little over an hour Thursday night. Everyone seemed to really like it. She got a lot of people telling her so. Olivia did a search demo in difficult conditions and people were very impressed. I got the simple demo job.
Looks like quite the place to hold your event and the weather looks good!
We had perfect weather traveling to Perry, while we were there and on the way home. Really lucky I guess!
So fun to share the week with “Northern” hounds! I walked almost 5 miles each day and still gained 10 lbs from all the good food and comradery. Fun to watch you work in real time, Olivia! You guys really helped make the weekend! Lydia got her NOVICE trick title and two personal bests in Fast CAT, she was just a little shy of 20mph on her final run. (I think Nelson was giving her some tips while they were crated next to each other.)
Nelson is a real ladies man but he also has very good manners. It was super fun to see you, the pups and meet your driver! We had a super fun time in Perry with sports, the presentation and meeting lots of people and GBGVs. Now we are home and totally wiped out but that is a good thing. Keep on running Lydia!
