Last Saturday after the first day of my nose work trial, Mom took me and Nelson to Mill Pond Park in Brighton. It is an adorable town with lots of little shops and quite a bit of history. We spent most of our visit walking by the pond.
The pond has several pretty fountains to find as you walk around it on the walkway.
Here is another view of the area from the parking lot which was free to park in.
There are bump outs with benches all along the elevated walkway. Most of them have pretty views and are a nice place to relax for a bit.
Along the walkway there are random pieces of art. We like this fish we saw on the side of the walkway.
There are numerous bars and restaurants around the pond as well. One of them that advertised beer has this stack of kegs out front.
As we walked on the sidewalk along Main Street we found they have cut outs here and there talking about history from this area. This is Henry Ford with John Tanner.
The cut outs have plaques next to them with the history. Being a breed with beards, we found this story about John Tanner quite interesting. Thankfully our beards are not that long!
Of course, something weird had to be found and this was right by where we parked our car. We have no idea what it is supposed to be but we will wrap up our post with it anyway, just for laughs.
I’m joining my friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard for their Nature Friday blog hop.

The pond and the view are just beautiful and a ten foot long beard?! Good thing he tucked it up or he’d be tripping on it!
We are wondering how he got ten feet in a shirt. He must have bought XXXL shirts!
Lovely pond and park to explore. 10 feet is really way too much beard, but it was the age of ‘wonders of the world’.
We are trying to imagine it in the summer, no thank you!
What a cute little town you visited, we really like that fishy art too!

It really is a nice town but we didn’t have a lot of time to explore it.
You guys s find the most beautiful places. That looked like a good weather day
It was a nice day but a bit on the warm side. The next day was cold and pouring rain…a bit of everything.
Beautiful!! And Mom wants to be sure to say Happy Birthday to Bailie. We have been busy with a few things and not able to post. But it’s been a great week of pictures and words from the hounds!! Happy Friday and happy weekend! your friend Chester
Summer can be a busy time. We are pretty busy too with trials, travel, and working but it is a good thing. Bailie says to thank you for the birthday wishes. She is happy at thirteen so far.
Wow! What a wonderful and informative tour! We especially enjoyed the fish hanging off the water
It was fun to see it hanging there.
Great photos of you sweet doggies near the park and pond ~ Hugs ^_^

That beard guy was a bit odd but it was a different time back then I guess.
That was a very pretty tour, the lake area sure is pretty!
It is a really nice area. If it hadn’t been so warm and a weekend, we would have explored more.
What a cool place! The last is probably what you would call modern art.
Nice modern art 🙂
A 10-ft. long beard? Whoa…that had to be very warm in the summer! Nice pics from Brighton.
We can’t imagine him stuffing all that beard into his shirt. Our beards are a better length.
