On our way to Michigan, we made a few stops in Rockford, Illinois to see a few sights. Here we are on the shore of the Rock River. If you look across on the other side behind us, you will see the ROCKFORD letters on the shore. The weather was hot but it was a nice day anyway.
We also found this mural on the side of the bridge over the river. It is not the best spot for photos which is why we are not in the photo.
Rockford has a triathlon every year along the river and it was going to be that Sunday. Lots of roads and paths were already closed. We came to see the Rock Men Guardians which are twelve feet tall and made of rocks held together with cement. Because of the triathlon, they are wearing giant t-shirts. They were built in the late 1980’s and are still standing tall and proud.
Here are the four men, each is a bit different. Some say two are women, but no one has confirmed or denied the rumor that we could find. They are fun to see.
Before leaving Rockford, we had to stop for a photo with the Magical Thinking Bunny. You know we are rabbit crazy! Speaking of crazy, there is a silly mural behind us on the Disco Chicken restaurant. It is a crazy area there! See ya next time, Rockford!
My GBGV Life is joining Comedy Plus for Awww Monday.

You guys always find the best stuff wherever you go! We love the very tall Rock Men Guardians!
Mom loves finding new things, even in places we have been many times.

We love finding fun stuff on our drives. It makes traveling more worthwhile.
You make me feel guilty that I have not seen a 10 th of the US that you have been too. I need to plan a trip.
Mom traveled the world as a kid with her family but she hated car trips. Then she was a flight attendant for eleven years and saw lots of other countries, lived in Europe for ten years and now all she wants to do is road trips with her dogs (us). We are fine with it since we love it. Only Bailie isn’t a fan.
Rockford looks like a fun place to visit!!
xoxo,
Rosy & Sunny
They have lots of interesting things there.
You all have the very best adventures. Wish I’d been with you. How fun.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

It is amazing how many things are actually out there to see, for free and close to major highways. We love finding new stuff.
thats a super cool wabbit!!!
He was mad about us taking a photo with him we think but it is a wabbit, so deal with it wabbit. He was fun to find.
Cool, those Rockmen are amazing, thanks for showing us!
They have been there since the late 1980’s and they are quite impressive.
What fun, a magic bunny and a disco chicken. You do find some amazing places.
Weird but fun places find us a lot too 🙂
Amazing rock people! Your mom always seems to find the Fun-ee-est things I think SHE is a super sniffer and THAT is the reason she got you all into these sport trips!!
Mom loves to see the country with us and find fun things to make trips more fun along the way. The trials are the reason but stuff along the way makes it more fun.
What a fun pitstop on your trip. Those rock guardians are quite impressive. What beautiful blue skies, but it looks kinda hot. Hope it wasn’t too bad for you guys.
It wasn’t too hot in Rockford but the next day at the trial was super hot and then the second day was cold and pouring rain. Crazy weather!
