September is National Dog Ownership Month! We thought we would show you ways you can celebrate that are good for your pup and you as well.
Good food is very important, just as it is for humans. We eat a raw and single ingredient diet but there are all kinds of healthy foods for your pup out there. We suggest you avoid that cheap grocery store food but you have to feed your pup whatever works for you and for them.
Exercise is healthy and important for you and your pup. Walking is a wonderful activity for dogs and and their humans. We also enjoy running with Mom. Walking or running helps to keep us fit and it provides mental stimulation.
Grooming is also very important. Some dogs need more attention to their furs than others but you need to be on top of it. Baths, brushing, nail trims, are all part of keeping your pup in good shape.
Dog sports are a real winner as they provide a lot of fun for your dog, they need to learn how to do the sports you choose for them, and it helps build a stronger bond between you and your dog.
Playtime with siblings or friends is a great way to get a pup some exercise. It will also keep them used to being with other dogs and how to behave when playing.
Finally, regular visits to the vet are super important. Keep immunizations up to day, provide heartworm and flea and tick treatments, and do the necessary testing at physicals. Pet insurance is also an option. For us it has come in handy a lot, unfortunately. Find a plan that works for you. We have used ours a lot.
Happy National Dog Ownership Month!
My GBGV Life is joining Brian’s Home Blog in the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

Everything you say is spot-on and please save me some of your yummy food, Olivia☺
We love our food. The boys whine while Mom is making our meals because they can’t stand to wait!
All good reminders of ways to take care of our pups.
Yep. We need a lot of things but we give back a lot too 🙂
What great pet ownership tips Bailie!

Most of the time we are pretty happy around here 🙂
OMDs that is a lot of very delicious looking food. I guess Mom must have a huge freezer.
Henry I really liked the photo of you sniffin’ your sis or perhaps you were telling her a secret
Hugs Cecilia
I was checking out her ears. Our long ears are a lot of work!
Being a dog owner is a privilege and a responsibility. I don’t have time to walk and play with dogs right now, and my cat is happy the way things are, so we stick to the cat for the moment.
Cats are much less work than dogs, no question there. It is sad when people still have a dog but don’t have time for it.
These are great tips for taking excellent care of your dog. The mom has used our pet insurance a LOT over the past couple of years. She is really glad she gets it on all of the kitties she adopts.
Purrs,
Giovanni and Gabriel
We all have used our pet insurance a lot too. Nelson has had several costly issues and it has been a life saver!
That cargo area full of tasty looking food made Wilson sit up and lick his chops! Happy National Dog Ownership Month!
We all love getting to go help Mom pick up our food!
