We are getting started in AKC Scent Work here at my house. NACSW will always be our number one sport, but another venue for sniffing is a good thing for a house full of scent hounds! My sisters got to give it the first try last weekend. Mom registered Bailie in novice containers and buried hides, Madison in interiors. [Read more…]
The Great Minnesota Sniffover 2018
The Great Minnesota Sniffover 2018 is now in the books. My sisters went to camp this year, and not only learned a lot, they had a fabulous time at Camp Warren by Eveleth. This was the fourth year of camp. Bailie and I attended the first two, and then Madison took my place as only two dogs per handler can have a working spot. [Read more…]
An NW3 Vehicle Element Title for Bailie in Luxemburg
On May 5th, Bailie earned an NW3 Vehicle Element Title at the trial in Luxemburg, Wisconsin. It was not the day they had hoped for, but Mom and Bailie are proud to have at least accomplished something. [Read more…]
Sniffin’ Into Our Fifth Year Of Nose Work
Today we are officially sniffin’ into our fifth year of nose work! Hard to believe we have completed four years of this awesome dog sport! We will always be grateful for our blogging friend Jodi, who blogged about nose work, and peeked Mom’s interest. Without blogging, and without Jodi, we may never have found our way to nose work or any dog sports for that matter! [Read more…]

Madison’s First Nose Work Trial
The last weekend in October was filled with nose work for Bailie and Madison at Afton Alps. Last week I told you about Bailie earning her NW2 title on Oct. 29, but Madison also competed. The little one tried her first actual trial in an NW1. Mom figured she could title, but mainly wanted to enter as a learning experience. [Read more…]
There’s More to Afton Alps Than Skiing And Snowboarding!
Most people around here think Afton Alps is for skiing and snowboarding, but we know better! It is also a great place for nose work and getting titles! Back in July 2015, I earned my NW1 Title at Afton Alps. Last weekend both Madison and Bailie competed there and Bailie finally earned her NW2 Title! [Read more…]
Madison Tries Her Nose At Three Odor Recognition Tests
Last weekend, Madison tried her nose at three odor recognition tests (ORT). This was her first real experience with nose work in a pass/fail situation. Mom wasn’t sure how it would go, Madison wasn’t worried at all. She always listens to Bailie who is not really a good influence and had her share of nose work failures. I tried my best to steer Madison in the right direction, but I can only do so much! [Read more…]
Fun Times With My Mom
I wanted to show everyone some of the fun times and special moments me and Mom had at my nose work trial earlier this month. Tomorrow Bailie is in her trial and it is also Mom’s birthday. It’s the perfect time for these photos. [Read more…]
We Achieved Our Nose Work Goals For The Weekend!
I’m happy to report that Mom and I, Team Emma/Team Red, reached our three nose work goals over the weekend. We have been in a nose work slump of sorts for about a year now. After having our worst trial results ever in March, we have worked hard to fix our team with private lessons and motivational training. Saturday was our first test and we passed with flying furs!
