I took a visit to Sherwood Forest with my mom last weekend on our mommy and me day. This is a photo of the sign at the beginning of the forest.
One thing is for sure, Sherwood Forest is full of squirrels. Those nasty tree rats are everywhere, making it real hard for a dog to concentrate on anything like photos! Just when a girl thinks the squirrel is up the tree, another one races by on the ground.
After all the squirrel excitement, it feels good to take a rest on a nice rock.
That rock is not just a rock, it is a huge boulder! Take a look at the size of it! Mom had to help me get up there.
I found a nice park bench to hang out on too. I never did see Robinhood in Sherwood Forest, but I found lots of nice spots to rest and watch critters.
This forest had some fresh tree stumps I could sit on. These must have been some really big trees. It is a comfy spot to sit and look out over the frozen pond.
I found an old log cabin style house. It is in really bad condition, but I took a photo with it anyway.
One more good, large rock to get my paws up on for a better view of the critters racing around. It’s always fun to get out and have a new or different adventure walk. Will you be heading out with your dog this weekend?

That looks like a fun place to go walking! Zoe and Phoenix both agree that squirrels make everything else hard to do!
Rabbits make things fun, but squirrels like to tease and really be mean to dogs so they are a problem.
Oh my Mum haf told me about Sherwood Forest and what a great place it is to go walkies, fank you fur reminding me that she promised me a trip there one day soon

Maybe you will find Robinhood on your walk there?
Oh maybe the US have a man in tights in that sherwood forrest too? have you seen him? The cabin looks great somehow… and my mom immediately started to renovate it in her thoughts… but we all know how her diy-disasters end so she better should stay away lol
That log house is in bad shape, so any renovation problems wouldn’t really be a problem!
What pawsome pictures of you, Emma. You look so stately. XOXO Sparkle
Thanks. It was a fun walk.
Looks like a fun walk Emma – that’s a good idea, I think we’ll explore someplace new this weekend!
Exploring new places or places you don’t go to often is always fun.
Love that you have mommy and me days.
We never used to, but now with all three of us doing different things, it seems like a good idea and we all like it.
What a fun day! We don’t do too many days with just mom during the school year … maybe your post will inspire her! Have a great day Emma! your doodle friend Dash
Making the time is the hard part, but with our current situation of Bailie running with Mom, Katie walking alone with Mom, time is already split up, so one day can just be a mommy and me day for one of us.
What a great adventure and beautiful photos.
It was fun having a day with just me and mom.
The melt looks like it’s nearly in full tilt with spring edging winter out.
Yes, the snow is pretty much gone, ice is fast disappearing, we are back to dead, brown, and ugly.
Looks like a great place! Rocco would love to chase those squirrels with you!
Does he climb trees? I need to find a dog who can climb trees to help me catch one.
Posing in the real Sherwood Forest!

That is correct!
OMD! You are so lucky to have discovered Sherwood Forest! I am glad that Robin Hood and his Merry Men did not try to rob you. β₯ You look so pretty posing on those big tree trunks! β₯ β₯
I left my pawbag at home in case of thieves!
Did you see FRYER Tail TUCKER?
Nope. All I saw was my mom and squirrels.
Love seeing you catch some sunshine on the boulder! I heard Robin Hood spends winter in Florida these days. π Happy weekend.
I was fine with not seeing him. We had a nice little, peaceful walk…except for the squirrels.
That is such a cool place to visit! Hey, I saw a robin in da hood once!
I may have see a robin in da hood, but I didn’t see Robinhood π
Looks like a great place for adventure. I’m sorry you didn’t find Robin Hood, but I hope that you got to sing some of the fun Disney songs while you strolled π
I did make my beautiful voice heard a few times along the trail.
We did not know Sherwood Forest was a real place! It looks like a good place to walk with lots of perches to sit on and watch the squirrels plus pose for some nice photos!
It’s a nice quite neighborhood in Sherwood Forest. I like it there.
Looks like you enjoyed your time with your mommy and the weather looks amazing for Minn. Have a great weekend Emma.
Our weather is not really what we like this time of year, but those folks that enjoy warmer weather are enjoying it. We like a super cold and snowy winter, but El Nino ruined that this year.
Maybe the next time you go there, Robin Hood will try to recruit you!
I’d like to recruit him to help me capture those nasty squirrels!
You always have such wonderful adventures!
Luckily I’m a dog, so I get to go places a lot. You kitties seem to stay at home most of the time, at least mine do.
Emma that looks like a delightful place! Bet it is beautiful in the summer! DakotasDen
I love to walk in Sherwood Forest any time because of all the critters!
I hope so. Mica’s foot is still looking healing but very well,so I guess Aspen will get a good run and swim. Sherwood Forest looks like a pretty place for an outing:)
I must have missed something as I didn’t know Mica had hurt a paw. Hope it feels better soon.
I told everyone in a foot note on Feb. 21 on Black and White Sunday. It says Wordless Wednesday -Last. I usually get up about 4:00 am to write that and my brain just doesn’t click at 4:00 am.
Buzz & Missy were all ears when they heard me read the “squirrel” part…;-)
So many squirrels, so little time!
That boulder is huge. Definitely looks like a great place to hang out.
It is like something from the Flintstones!
I have always loved old log cabin style houses. It is a bit of a dream of mine that in my future I have an old log cabin getaway type spot. I love your photos!
α¦ husky hugz α¦ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Thank you. This one is in pretty bad shape, even though the photos don’t reflect that.
What a great place! I’ve never heard of it before but looks like fun! π
I love to go for walks there.
Those tree rats are little rascals no matter where you find them.
They are nothing but trouble and frustration for us dogs!
Pawsome adventure Emma! It’s wooftastic that you were able to get any sightseeing in with all that SQUIRREL activity going on.

Those squirrels are so nasty and distracting!
