Look at me, I turned three on Saturday, August 10th! It seems like yesterday that Mom picked me up in Missouri, but it has been almost three years. What a lucky hound I am!
The day before my birthday, Mom and I took a nice walk together and did some birthday photos. It was a perfect weather day, and there were not too many people out.
I enjoyed the short walk around the lake, as well as looking for ducks and critters.
Do you like my hat? Every year we each get to choose a new hat if we want to. I think this one is cute, and not so big looking on my head. Being a smaller girl, I have to make sure I choose smaller accessories.
Back at home, Mom gave me my first present, a package of liver. Mom does not like liver, and even wears gloves so she doesn’t have to really touch it, but it is my very favorite food! I was pretty excited to see what Mom was going to make for me with the liver.
We all think that Olivia is going to turn into a chef pretty soon. She loves food, and is fascinated with watching Mom cook. She too was wanting to know what one does with a package of liver!
When I came to the kitchen for my birthday breakfast, I was so thrilled to see Mom had added liver to my normal meal! Usually, we fight over breakfast because I don’t want to eat it. Liver changed everything, and I mowed down the entire bowl of food – slowly, but I did it! What a great surprise!
My actual birthday, was a dreary, rainy day, not good weather to be outside doing fun stuff, so I went to visit Gramma with my mom. We had a real nice time together, and I was hoping for another meal of liver, but that didn’t happen. Mom told me the other parts of my birthday gift would be a Level 1 Vehicle Nose Work Trial Sunday, and a working spot in a nose work seminar on Monday. The liver? She dehydrated the rest of the liver and made it into nose work treats for me. How great is that?
What a great birthday weekend I had! Thank you to everyone who sent me birthday wishes on Facebook and Instagram too! I’m a very lucky girl to have so many people who love and care about me. Now I turned three, and we will see what great things I can find to do in the coming year!
I’m joining Comedy Plus for the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
My mom has never cooked liver for me. I bet I would love it too! Sounds like you had a pretty, great, dam(p) birthday weekend! XOXO, Sparkle
It was a good weekend despite the rain. Mom doesn’t like liver, but she cooks it for me sometimes.
Good Mommy! XOXO, Sparkle
Our Lucy is 2-1/2 and was born in Missouri as well. That is quite the birthday celebration going on and a good looking canine.
Thank you. All three of us are from Missouri, by Hannibal.
Happy Birthday, boy time sure goes fast.
It really does. No wonder Mom babies us so much.
Happy Birthday, hope for many more to come. I love your hat!
Thank you. I plan on many more π
Happy Birthday!!! We go nuts for some liver too!
Liver is my very favorite food. Trader Joes has dehydrated liver treats I love, but fresh made at home is the best.
You are indeed a lucky girl. There is so much love in your life. Happy Birthday.
Sometimes I think we are smothered in love, but it is a good problem to have.
Such a wonderful day you had and the liver was yum I’ll bet! Happy Birthday from all of us!!!
Oh yes it was, and it was all mine except my sisters got a few smaller pieces.
Hooray for you! Three years old — oh my!! sounds like you had an awesome weekend. Happy happy happy birthday! your friends Lilly and Chester!
Hard to believe I’m three, but I am. Now I’m supposed to be an adult dog, but I don’t always feel like one.

Thank you. I had a great day.
Happy Birthday, Bailie! I’ve never had liver and I NEED to talk mom into getting some next time she goes to the grocery store!
Mom says it is smelly, sticky, and overall messy to work with, but she does it for me sometimes. It is really tasty.
Happy Birthday sweet Madison!
Thank you.
Three already?! Boy, time flies!! So glad you had a wonderful birthday weekend!! (Though I wouldn’t expect anything less, knowing your Mom!)
I had a great couple of days, it was real nice.
Happy Happy Birthday Sweetie pie!!! You share a birthday with my granddaughter! She just turned one this past Saturday! August 10 sure is one special day! xoxoxo
Only the best are born on August 10th π
What a beautiful baby! Happy 3rd Birthday!
Thank you.
We are so glad to hear that you had a very Happy Birthday, Madison! It’s also good to hear that there is some food that you really love, since we know you can be a bit “finicky”. π
But Mom also knows if I get it too often, I won’t want to eat it anymore either. My eating makes her nuts!
Happy purrthday – and many more !
Thank you.
Wishing you many happy returns of the day, and lots of liver!
Thank you. I got a ton of liver over the weekend and it was great!
Happy Birthday, my little furriend! That mom of yours sure does spoil you on your special day. Pups and kids grow faster than a weed but the good thing about pups when they grow up they still at home with the mom. Now, I’m not much for liver but it sounds like it’s the purrfect gift idea for you. I’m so glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for dropping in the 4M dance floor to enjoy a bit of mewsic. Have a boogietastic week.
Yeah, none of Mom’s dogs have ever moved out as they got older. I don’t see any of us leaving either. Why go out and get our own place when life is so good where we are at?
Three never looked so good!
I think I’m a young three.
i need to learn how to make the liver. i see it at the dog shows. does your mom use a dehydrator? i dont understand how they make it at the shows because it is soft. i thought it had to be refrigerated unless it was dehydrated. you look like you had a great time, pretty in pink as always. so glad you had a great day. good thing Olivia could not get on the counter to eat your liver, yet!
Mom buys the liver at the store, defrosts it, puts it on parchment paper, sprinkles some garlic powder on it, and bakes it for 2 – 2 1/2 hours at 250. Liver is messy and sticky, thus the parchment paper, and gloves for her hands. For my meal, she put it in a frying pan on medium flipped it over a few times until it seemed done, and cut it up. We store it in the fridge.
