Mom and I took a shady walk in the woods along MInnehaha Creek on the weekend. We wanted to walk but it was really warm. Thankfully we found a fairly shady trail.
Everything is so green and overgrown, it is hard to believe we are having a serious drought in our area! We found lots of fallen trees, but they had all fallen a long time ago from the looks of things. They are fun for me to climb on.
The Minnehaha Creek is the only sign of the drought we could find on our shady walk in the woods. The water is really low. Normally it is also flowing along, but it is pretty much stagnant now and there is even algae growing on the water in some spots.
While I was off road exploring, I saw a squirrel, can you tell? Amazingly, we didn’t critters at all, just the one squirrel.
Minnetonka is very dog friendly. Not only do they have tons of trails we can go on, they have the signs in our language as well.
Even though it is cooler in the shade of the woods, it is still warm out. When a girl finds a nice bench, she needs to hop up on it and rest her paws for a few minutes. It sure feels nice!
We only walked for about half an hour since it was so warm out, but we had a fun time. I wasn’t allowed in the creek because of the low water level, Mom didn’t think the water was suitable for me to swim in or drink. Although she enjoys being a rule breaker, sometimes she can be a real rule stickler too! Stay cool everyone!
My GBGV Life is happy, so weβre joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
Walks are always nice.
We all love getting out and about.
Great walk! Hooray for shade! have a good day–your friend Lilly
We always walk or run early in the morning but in the afternoon when it is so hot, shade is the only option.
That are is sure pretty and the name is super cool too!
Ha, ha…lots of those indian names around here.
Mom remembered! When she was a little girl a very long time ago she jumped rope to a rhyme ” little Minnie Haha wwnt to see her papa….” She kept wondering where she had heard Minnehaha, and she finally remembered. Yea, Mom! I’m thankful that you found a nice place for your walk. XOXO Sparkle
Ha, ha, she needs to come to Minnehaha Creek one day. We don’t know that rhyme, but it sounds cute.
Beautiful area. This post made me smile. I just love all your adventures.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
Thank you. Mom doesn’t want to get bored and neither do we, so we find different places to walk.
It looks like a very hot day. Glad it was a short walk.
Most days lately are in the 90’s which isn’t much fun.
Shady walks in the summer are always a blessing.
Shade is such a wonderful thing.
Absolutely love that sign and what a glorious place to walk! I seriously need to move to Minnesota lol
There are plenty of places to walk, that is for sure. When Mom lived in Michigan she didn’t have a dog, so she doesn’t know how it is there.
That picture of you on the bench gave us a big smile Bailie! You sure are a happy girl when you are out and about with your Mama!!
xoxo,
Rosy and the Gang
I really cherish my alone time with her.
I see you found a comfy shady spot to rest at. what wonderufl phoots and you work so hard. I love stopping by and seeing you here. Have a wonderful week.
Thank you. Sometimes, even in the heat, we want to walk but we have to find a shady place.
It would be so nice if we could send our rain to you.
It seems like it is all or nothing with the weather right now. We’ve had a couple super cool and wet summers and now we are like a desert!
Bark, ruff, howl, Grrr! Haha! That was funny! Love his picture on the bench, but they are all petty!
We like the sign too π
We’re having no trouble staying cool here! We don’t love the humid heat either, but we would switch with you for a bit – you can have our rainy cool weather!
Even though we are not rain fans, we really need some rain but there isn’t any in sight, just more 90’s.
Your Mama is smart to keep you out of that stagnant water, girls. It’s nice you at least got a 30 minute walk in that green wonderland.
This time of year, water can be dangerous, so we stay clear of it.
