Sherwood Forest has some fun summer finds. We didn’t do a lot of walking but we found some interesting things.
Being Purple Girl, I love to see purple flowers. These purple button flowers were all over the place on our walk. Some were a more deep purple, these ones actually look more pinky.
We came across a cluster of these red berries. Does anyone know what they are? We looked for a deer or other wild animal to ask, but came up empty on our search.
Speaking of wild animals, they do exist in Sherwood Forest. We have seen deer quite often but on this day, we saw nothing but squirrels.
The forest is really nice and green. Sadly, the ponds are also green and quite low on water. With all the shade, things have a better chance of staying green I guess.
There are a lot of white button flowers too. Mom would like to have several colors of button flowers at our house. Maybe when the stuff she doesn’t like gets taken out she can plant some of them.
We were really surprised to find raspberries growing wild. Mom adores raspberries but we did not pick any of them. They do look quite tasty and ready to eat, though.
Of course, we found some yellow button flowers too. It seems like they must come in many colors. Since we love bright colors they are flowers we really like.
Evidently only red berries grow in Sherwood Forest. We found these berries and don’t know what they are either. They look pretty and Mom says they would look nicer at Christmas time. I reminded her that many people are celebrating Christmas in July, but she says it is no fun when it is not cold and snowy.
Of all the fun summer finds, this bench is our favorite. Mom loves how it is made with two rock slabs and lots of twisted metal. I don’t care much about that, but I want to know if this lizard is real. This concludes our tour for today. Hope you enjoyed walking along with us!
We are joining our friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard is for their Nature Friday blog hop.
That’s a nice place to hang out! I guess Robin Hood wasn’t around.
I’m in Sherwood Forest a lot, but I’ve never seen him there.
Thank you for that tour of the forest. That bench actually gives me an idea for our backyard!!
Mom loves that bench. If it ever disappears, they should check our house.
I love the bench. What a great idea.
Mom loves that bench, but it is too heavy to steal!
oooh how great! has that sherwood forest a robin hood too?
We never have seen him when we are in the forest.
Beautiful nature walk. What a wonderful guide too.
Have a woof woof day and weekend. Scritches all around and my best to your wonderful mom. β₯
Thank you. We all love walking there and there are a lot of squirrels to look at too.
We love all of the berries and flowers but that bench – it’s a winner!
Mom loves the bench too. It is a really neat idea.
Are you at your Gramma’s today? Take good care of her. XOXO, Sparkle
No, we have been home because Mom isn’t home, but she came back late on Saturday.
you ALWAYS find the coolest and most interesting places to walk! I bet that lizard sure wasn’t real!
No, it isn’t real because if it was, Mom would have screamed and run away and I would not be allowed near it. She can’t handle reptiles.
What a lovely walk today Bailie! I really like your variety of button flowers!!
xoxo,
Rosy
Mom wants to plant some at our house maybe for next year.
Lots and lots of berries! I don’t know any of your unknown ones. Our raspberries aren’t ready yet but I would’ve eaten the ones that you found!
Love that seat and lizard!
Thank you. Mom loves raspberries, they are one of her favorite fruits. At least she can recognize them but other plants can be a real mystery.
That was a very enjoyable walk, and that bench is so cool! I picture a bouquet of those pretty button flowers in all the different colors. π
Mom would like to plant a few colors of them in our front landscaping. She is planning on ripping out some of the plants because they came with the house and she has never liked them. Button flowers would be so much nicer.
What a neat place!
There is always something to see in Sherwood Forest.
Thanks for taking us along on your walk in Sherwood Forest. It looks like a magical, wonderful place! We loved seeing all the coneflowers and berries. And that cool bench, too. π
