We’ve got some thoughts on dogs sleeping in bed to share with you today. It is a topic people feel strongly about either one way or the other. It has been studied a lot the past few years. Having us in bed with our humans is a good thing and we do not ruin your sleep!
At our house, the girls sleep in bed with Mom every night. I sometimes hop in for a quick snuggle, but being a tough guy, I prefer to sleep on the hard, tile floor in the bathroom. There isn’t much room for me in the bed anyway. Mom slept with a huge pile of stuffies as a kid, and it makes her happy to finally have real furry ones in bed at night.
What are some of the benefits of dogs sleeping in bed?

- People fall relax and fall asleep faster.
- Feelings of loneliness decrease and self esteem increases.
- The dog-human bond becomes stronger.
- Bad dreams seem to decrease when your pup in sleeping in your bed.

At our house, we are all happy about sleeping in bed with Mom. Nelson is happy on the floor. Our sleeping arrangement is the right one for us. It may not be for everyone, but it is not wrong to allow your pup to sleep in your bed.
My GBGV Life is happy, so we’re joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
I don’t sleep in mom’s bed with her because I choose not to. I prefer my own beds or the floor and the same is true for angel Maggie and angel Mitch.
You would be in Nelson’s camp. As long as you are happy where you sleep, that is most important.
humans need all their shots and they have to change the bedding twice per week… we dogs like it to roll in fresh bedding…. ;O)))
Bailie loves rolling in the fresh sheets!
For us, we definitely agree with the pack in the bed to sleep at least to start the night out! Although after a while, Zachary prefers the floor right near the bed for the rest of the night.
Nelson moves around the room in the night, but he doesn’t like to be in the bed.
My big sister can’t get on mom’s bed anymore because she has accidents and its hard for her to jump up and down. Mom finds it really sweet that no matter where in the room Lilly starts the night, Mom finds Lilly right next to the bed every morning. She has to be careful when she gets up not to step on her!! I am just like Nelson! Give me a cool hard floor and I am set. Sometimes I start with Mom but I always move to the floor. We agree –if everyone is happy and it works- that’s awesome! We love the pictures! Have a great day. Your friends Chester and Lilly
Thank you. It is sad when we get older and can’t do what we used to do anymore, but it is life. Bailie can still jump in and out of bed, but Mom usually lifts her just to take it easy on her joints.
Hum…this is a mixed topic for our home. We only have bedroom access in storms, and although I mostly sleep on the floor
(after a good tussle on the bed pillows to get my face rubbed off); my sister, is a nightmare most of the time. She a nervous nellie most of the night in spite of her thunder shirt and CBD. She doesn’t settle down for a long, long time. That’s girls for you! Jimmy Parker
Madison is the worst, Bailie is sometimes a mess, and others she just sleeps. Olivia and I sleep like nothing is going on and it makes Mom happy.
I wish clover would sleep in the bed with me. She doesn’t like coming up on the bed as she can’t get off by herself. So I think she feels a little trapped. But I think sleeping with your dogs is the best thing in the world.
Have you ever tried a ramp up to the bed? Maybe she could do that? It is hard getting up and down, especially if you have mobility issues.
Our Sweetie sleeps on the bed at night; she has a specific corner that’s all hers, but she’ll managed to paw across human bodies once in awhile.
We all fall asleep in our spots but move around in the night.
I’ve had kitties and pups sleep with me forever. I find it most comforting. I say yes.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches all around and a hug to your mom. ♥
Mom just loves it and so do my sisters. She is a bit sad I am not interested in being in bed, but it gives her some space at least.
As long as everyone is happy that is what counts. Our first cat Milky-way slept with us. Madi evidently thought she deserved an entire bed so she started sleeping on anything in that house that did not have humans on it. We were ok with her sleeping with us but evidently we had cooties.
Love the photo of your bed
Hugs Cecilia
Mom had cats sleeping in bed for a long time but now the cat is not allowed as he wakes us up at like 3 am and he also causes trouble complaining about us dogs being in bed, so he sleeps somewhere else and we girls sleep in bed.
I sleep with Mama and Dad, and Sunny sleeps in her fuzzy bed in her room. It’s a win-win for both of us!
xoxo,
Rosy and Sunny
As long as everyone is happy, why not!
The Z Kids start out on the bed with me, and most times I wake up with both of them on the bed. In between they’re either somewhere on the bedroom floor or back on the bed. They don’t normally wake me up while they’re moving around, so whatever makes them happy is fine with me. This morning I woke up with Zoey spooning me and my arm “hanging loose” over her side. 💜 A few minutes later, Zen got back up on the bed and laid partly on Sam’s pillow facing me so I gave him a nose kiss and got one in return. 💚
Mom wakes up sometimes because she can’t move but overall, it works out really well. It is a slumber party every night.
Sleeping in Mom’s bed when there is wind or a thunderstorm is my favorite ~ other than then I prefer to sleep alone ~ but great benefits to having your pets sleep with you ~ fun photo !
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

We girls like being in bed every night if possible. Bailie and Madison like to get up, pace, pant, and shake if there are storms and sometimes that gets them locked out because Mom needs to sleep, but they are getting better.
When Coda stays here, I sleep with her in her bed. The cats are in our bed upstairs!
Mom naps in Bailie’s bed with Bailie in her office. Hopefully no one will ever see her as it would be embarrassing, LOL!
That is exactly why they make big beds sweeties. Everyone can fix, no problem!
You are right about that!
I sleep in da bed too!
We would be shocked if you didn’t because you and your mom are super close like we are with our mom.
Lucy sleeps in her kennel in our bedroom. She gets a couple of bedtime snacks. However, when there are thunder storms or fireworks our girl is the third occupant in the bed. sleeping between us. She really is no trouble, even when the storms are severe.
Our scared two leave the bed if there are storms. They need to pace and pant. Glad Lucy feels safe with you and your wife.
I wish the dogs would sleep on the bed. I love that comforting sound of soft dog snores.
There is some of that and Olivia enjoys kicking Mom in the face in the night when she is having some wild dreams but Mom doesn’t mind too much.
