Who made the FastCAT Invitational List for 2023? Well, all of us that ran in 2022, made the list. The year runs from January 1st to December 31st, so the Invitational for 2023 is for 2022 run scores. We follow the list all year, so we knew it was coming but it is still fun to see it in print. There are not many GBGV’s running FastCAT, so we have it easy to qualify. Dogs like Labs, or Golden Retrievers have hundreds of dogs to compete against. Still, we have to run to get invited.
Last year they changed from inviting the top three dogs to the top five. Since three of us ran in 2022, two others will also be invited. I placed first again, amazingly, Bailie came in third, and Madison at fifth. It was a rough year for Madison which started out with her nasty crash on her first run in May 2022. She took two months off to heal up, and even now, she has some PTSD and often slows way down the second half of her runs.
Since we went to the Invitational in Orlando in 2021, we don’t really need to go back right now. The plan is to try and go in 2024. This year is Nelson’s first year and hopefully two or three of us will place and be invited next year. Bailie does not want to travel to Florida and she isn’t running anymore, so no need for her to go. If you want to see what dogs in other breeds placed, you can see the entire FastCAT Invitational List in this link.
For fun, we each picked a favorite photo of our runs in 2022 to show you. This is me with my crazed look when I got to run with a squawker. I sure wish they would have more runs with those, but I’ve been told they are quite costly.
Bailie took third place which is so awesome for her! Had she run when she was young, she would have been super fast! Now she just enjoys the fun of the run.
Madison always works so hard with her short legs. It is such a bummer she had that crash but it is life. At least she still enjoys running and does the best she can.
If Orlando was closer, we would go, but it is a long trip, so we will wait and hopefully go next year. We wish everyone who does attend a Grand time!
My GBGV Life is happy, so weβre joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
Congratulations girls! Love your action shots!
Thank you. It is fun to be invited to the Invitational even if we don’t go every time.
you eyes in this wonderful photos!!! congrats that is fantabulous!!!
We get a lot of focus and crazy eyes in that sport!
Madison I do understand your hesitation. I twisted my knee on a rugged trail in May 2022. Had a real ouchie lateral medial strained ligament that took FUREVER to heal. Now I stick to paved trails w/o any chance of twisting it again. Just happy I am still enjoying walking. At least when the heat and humidity aren’t 100 degrees with 80% humidity
Hugs cecilia
I’m running better and faster, but in about half my runs I slow down midway or at the end. Hopefully I can stop doing that one day.
WOOT!
π
So proud of all of you. What an accomplishment!
It’s fun when all of us that ran made it, and especially Bailie.
You gorgeous doggies! Congratulations and love your action photos ~ Wow!
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days ~

We love action around here!
WOWZA!! I am running my first FASTCAT in September, and my sister Olive is too. She USED to be GBGV #2. She is out of practice, but we are keeping our fingers crossed for both of us. Just a few more weeks! Jimmy Parker
I think Olivia ran with her at the Invitational in 2021. Can’t wait to see where you guys end up in the rankings for the year.
Your babies are so amazing and talented. A huge smile here.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches all around and a hug to mom. β₯
We love sports, some of us love some more than others but running is always fun.
Such a famous GBGV pack you are!! Congrats on your achievements, and we bet you do great next year!
xoxo,
Rosy & Sunny
Next year Nelson should be invited unless something changes drastically π
It’s great you girls got the invites – and next year Nelson will join the line up!
Bailie drops off and Nelson joins.
I’m sorry you can’t all go on such a trip, but next year does sound better.
Congratulations to all of you super-fast GBGVs!
It is a long way to travel and costly. Bailie won’t want to go anyway.
You can sure be proud of those invites though, you all are super sports dogs fur sure! Congratulations!
It’s especially nice to see Bailie at #3. She worked hard last summer to earn her DCAT, and her arthritis keeps her from being the crazy wild dog she would like to be.
Congratulations!
Thank you.
That must be such fun!! And you girls must be so excited to have been invited again!
I love the pix you shared – it’s so obvious you all love running!
We all love chasing that lure! Bailie is the only one that often ignores the lure and runs to Mom instead.
Woo-hoo! Congratulations!
We are happy each year since we started running in 2020 we have made the list.
