While I was seven, I went road tripping to new states, five to be exact. We had hoped to travel a bit more out to the west, but Mom had her broken collarbone, so we had to cancel one trip. The other idea didn’t work because Olivia didn’t get into the trial she entered. Still adding more states every year is a good thing and I sure do love our road trips! Experiencing other parts of the country is always fun.
Massachusetts is the first new state I visited. Olivia had her Summit trial there. We really went far out east this year. Their sign wasn’t exactly interesting but we are always happy to have any kind of sign for our photos.
Next we did a day of road tripping to new states on our road trip, kind of doubled up on things. As long as we were so far east, we wanted to see more places and add more states. Vermont was next on our list. It is a beautiful state from what we could see and we loved their welcome center.
From Vermont, we headed to New Hampshire. Our visit there was maybe a half hour at best. We had lots of miles to cover and not a lot of time.
Rhode Island was much different from what we were expecting, and they happened to have a nice sign at the welcome center. It is amazing how many states don’t have a fun sign to take a photo with. With all the social media these days, they really should have more fun signs.
The last new state for me on this trip was Connecticut. This state was fun because we got to show Nelson the ocean and he got to dip his paws in it. He didn’t like the waves and said it is quite scary but at least he had the experience.
All in all, as I turn eight years old, I have visited thirty different states. We are all hoping to get in a couple more good road trips in the next year. That means we need to keep Mom in one piece, and we need to get a spot in the trials we enter. Travel is fun for all of us, except for Bailie, but she is happy to stay home while we tour the country.
We are joining our friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard is for their Nature Friday blog hop.

Thirty states are just incredibly, Madison! You’ve seen more states than my mom has!
Mom wants us to see as many as we can. She has traveled around the country and the world most of her life and thinks we need to experience travel too. She has 47 states and hopes to grab those last three with us in the coming years. We love to travel, see and sniff new places too.
that is amaring… so many states with pawprints of the gbgv team… woohoo
If we added all the states together from the four of us we would have 37 total as Bailie did travel to the Southwest with Emma and got six states the rest of us don’t have.
IM waiting for a trip to New York
Well, that is a tough one as Mom doesn’t want to go near the city but the bigger problem is it isn’t near places we need to go.
You are so lucky to get to see so many new and interesting places!
We love sniffing new smells, and seeing new things. The three of us are car lovers, just not Bailie which is a bummer.
We are super impressed at your having visited so many states Madison. Do you have a favourite? And have you ever crossed the border into Canada?
Toodle-oo!
Nobby.
I don’t really have a favorite one. We came very close to Canada when we went to Niagara Falls in May but we stayed on the US side. The paperwork to take a dog in and out of a country isn’t really worth it. The late Emma had a few countries on the other side of the Atlantic- Germany, UK, Belgium, Netherlands, USA.
Thirty countries! Wow. Maybe this next year you will come out west and dip your paws into the Pacific!
We wanted to go to Utah, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Texas but Olivia didn’t get a spot in that trial. There is one we would love to go to in Oregon on the coast, but it is so far, probably won’t go.
We think traveling to new places is one of the best things in life! We are so glad you are seeing all the USA has to offer, and bet you get to go to even more new states when you are 8!
xoxo,
Rosy and Sunny
I’m hoping so. We need to get another one or two states on the east coast and then we need to hit the west coast.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Vermont and New Hampshire states I’d love to visit.
You GBGB’s have been to more states than I have for sure
Hugs Cecilia
Mom has been a traveler her entire life. She had been half way around the world on a cruise ship for two months when she was five. The family traveled by car, then she was a flight attendant for eleven years, lived in Germany for ten years and now we drive all over creation. Travel is fun.
What fun it is to see all those new places. I hope you get several more in the coming year.
We really want to go to the Southwest. Time will tell.
WoW, Impressive!
We love to travel.
You guys are so well traveled. We admire your on-the-road adventures!
Mom loves our travels. She says they give her down time and inspire her creativity. Despite the driving, it is relaxing not being at her computer working all the time.
