It’s back to school time, kids! The buses will be a rolling today. Kids will be on the corners and learning will begin once again. It’s also staying dark longer in the morning, so watch for pedestrians when you are driving! Bailie and I don’t start back to dog school until next week, so we have a few more days to relax.
One of my dreams has always been to board the bus with all the kids. So far, I have been unsuccessful at it, but I never give up trying. If I was a mini human, I would be starting in the fifth grade today. I think I would be the coolest kid in my whole class!
Bailie is only three, so she would be in pre-K of some sort. At her level of school, I bet they still take naps and play with toys! Oh to be a young pup again!
Then we have cat bro Bert. He doesn’t belong at school at all, but it does appear he is trying to learn some letters. I think he needs to be home schooled since he is an indoor cat and a problem child.
See you all around school! Don’t forget to behave nicely, listen to your teacher, and do your homework!
this day was always a special one for the mama… she counted the days till she could go back to school. no worries Bert can go to Oxford with me, two problem childs in a class will not attract so much attention than only one… :o)
You and Bert would be a fabulous pair. My mom never liked going to school. She would cry the night before.
Kids are heading back to school here too. Of course it is pouring rain. Hope they have their rain gear ready.
We are all soaked from walking and running in the pouring rain this morning. Not nice weather.
Emma- you look so cute they should let you on the bus. I bet the kids would love it.
The kids would love me and I would be very well behaved, but I have no luck getting a bus.
The mom says she is a retired school teacher. I would be like Bailie in Pre-K. Lyla would be in 7th grade, and Hollee would be in 9th grade! The mom just smiles and is happy she is retired. What library did you sneak into to get that cute photo? XOXO Sparkle
My mom never liked school. She would cry the night before the first day of school when she was younger. As she got older she planned and plotted how much class she could skip and still get good grades. School bored her to death and she found it a waste of time. She could never be a teacher! I was at Gramma’s library where she volunteers. We sometimes go there when it is closed.
Whoa, my mom (who is 13) started school four weeks ago!
Most schools around here start now. We know a lot of places are different.
Oh yeah, Bert would definitely get in trouble at school! We could see you and Bailie being the popular girls though. Since Luke is almost 3 he would probably be with Bailie, and wouldn’t those two have fun!
Bert would just love it! Bailie would be the popular one, I would be the more nerdy serious student. I’m not so into being social and I like to work hard on what I am told to do.
Our mini-humans went back 3 weeks ago and we wish them well!
Around here most schools start today. It all has something to do with farming traditions of the past, but we know people in NY who start now too.
You guys looks like real smarty pants
Lily & Edward
We both do pretty well at dog school, so I think we would do fine at human school too.
You would for sure be the coolest kid in class. And how unfair, a bus ride should be allowed.
I think it would be so much fun to go on the bus and go to school, but it isn’t allowed. Maybe if I was a therapy dog, but I don’t want to do that.
I bet going to school would be a blast!! New friends, learning new tricks….we wish they would let you get on the bus!
Smileys!
Dory
PeeEss…My Mama read some of your comments about your Mama and giggled. Like your Mama, she used to plan how much school she could skip, and still pass…
LOL! My mom understands if we don’t like school, that is for sure! Luckily, most of the classes we take are fun for us and for mom! Obedience is not a favorite for Mom, though.
Cat Bro Bert isn’t in school because he is waaaaay too smart for school! π Love, Cody
We think you would be the coolest kid in class too!
Thanks for putting out the reminder for everyone to be alert when a school bus is stopped and letting kids off. We’ve had big issues around here with cars not paying attention and it’s very scary!
Not to mention people walking dogs. It is a dangerous place out there in the early morning!
They started school here a couple of weeks back – which made us happy – no more rug rats on the beach π
Most places around here started yesterday.
You all are too cute, Emma! My kids started last week and it sure is a lot of work for me BOL. The big one is in 6th grade now and the little one just started Pre-K.
They are in almost the same classes as Bailie and me!
What a wonderful post! I love your photos. β₯ β₯ The kids started school around here a couple of weeks ago.
Yikes! That is not much of a summer vacation! If they start early here, it was last week, but most started yesterday in the Midwest.
I’ll school you bert!!
You can have him. I would love for him to go to boarding school and leave my stuff alone!
Back to school time is SO exciting. You look amazing, B. Sometimes Mom brings me to school to visit some 5th graders. It’s fun. And I don’t even get homework!
Love and licks,
Cupcake
I would like to do that, but here unless you have connections you can’t go…or you have to be one of those therapy dogs which we aren’t into doing.
Kids have been in school for quite some time now – I think they started the 3rd week in August. Let Bert stay in school – he would appreciate the socialization!
He would do a real number on a classroom! I know he would love it, but since he is a house cat, he can’t go.
The best part of back to school to mom is when she went to Target today and once inside it was quiet. Love Dolly
It is nice having all the screaming, running around kids put away for a while.
Keep trying, one of these days you’ll make it on the bus!
Our kids started back to school last Thursday, September 1st. I can never figure out WHY they would have the kids start, go for two days and then get a long weekend. When I was a kid, we started AFTER Labor Day!
A few schools start for a couple days and then have the long weekend. We don’t see the point either.
