LID Formula? What is that, you say? Well, meet one of the new brand ambassadors for Pet Supplies Plus. My first assignment is to test out their Redford Naturals new limited ingredient diet (LID)formula for dogs! As part of the deal, they sent along this box of fun swag! It’s a Tasty Tuesday, so get ready for a yummy review!

To get my assignment started, I headed out to my local Pet Supplies Plus store to check out the selection of Redford Naturals LID Formula dog food. Armed with my “secret shopper” disguise, I carefully selected a few formulas I would like to try out. I had to choose from hearty flavors such as chicken, lamb, duck and salmon all mixed with sweet potato. This product line also has specific meals for puppies and large-breed dogs. Altogether, there are 11 new bags of 4-ounce and 24-ounce bags of Redford Natural LID dog foods.
The shelves were pretty high for a short hound like me, but I managed to get my paws up and scanned the varieties and prices until I came to my ultimate decision. Since I have never had a kibble with duck as the main protein, I selected duck and sweet potato. Remember I don’t like sweet potatoes, but when they are in my food I normally gobble them down, and they are healthy for dogs!
I was pleased as punch to finally have my new bag of Redford Naturals LID Duck & Sweet Potato Recipe at home with me. It’s not easy for a girl to haul around 24 lbs of food when I, myself, only weigh 36 lbs! Heavens, I think the bag looks even bigger than I am! I may need to spread the food out over a few weeks time as it is way too much for one meal! Would you like to bring a bag like this into your home? Click here for a $5 off coupon for any size bag!
Let’s have a look at what makes this LID Formula so special, shall we?
- Single source animal protein – my bag is duck
- Protein is the number one ingredient
- No corn, soy, or wheat – grain free
- Free of artificial preservatives, colors and flavors
- Excellent source of Omega 3 & 6
- Made in the USA
Why do some dogs need a LID food? Dogs who have allergies or digestion difficulties benefit from a single animal protein which is combined with sweet potatoes to help combat a petβs enhanced sensitivity to certain foods. Please check with your veterinarian first if your dog has specific dietary issues. My sisters and I don’t have any food issues, but any dog can eat a LID.
A good review always includes a taste test, and I am happy to oblige! I started by pouring some kibble into my bowl. The size of the pieces is good, not too big or too small, and the aroma is heavenly! Thankfully, I have self control so I did not dive right in like an ordinary animal!
Finally I got to give this food a taste. I really like it! Remember, I can be a real fussy eater – not as bad as my food snob sister Madison, but I’ve been known to turn my nose up to good food before. In this case, I dug in and love it! I have to be careful or it might just make me #GoWild!
The overall conclusion I came to is that Redford Naturals LID Formula, at least the Duck & Sweet Potato Recipe will bring a smile to a dog’s face! Do you think you would like to give this food a try? Click here to download a $5 off coupon for any size bag!
We are going to try that duck! We like our duck toys and we LOVE sweet potatoes! Thank you Emma! Elbe& Chablis
It’s quite tasty and even Madison likes to eat it.
duck and sweet pawtato is a wonderful fall mix… and I love the motto: GO WILD! YAY!
That suits my sisters better than me! It is tasty food, though.
Duck is one of my favorite flavors. So happy to see you enjoyed your Redford Naturals kibble. Mommy wonders if maybe Robert Redford could deliver it to our house. π
Maybe you could email the company and ask π
You sure do look like you’re enjoying that, Emma! The crew around here loves duck and sweet potato so they just might go for this. Luke is starting to show some signs he might have some allergies, but we’re not sure yet if it’s food or environmental. We’ll be keeping this in mind!
They have some interesting flavors and the duck is real tasty!
You are sure lucky to get such good yum to try out and your review was terrific too!
I know. This is a real good gig!
Great review Emma! You look great in red!
xoxo,
Arty and Jakey
Red is my color, thank you!

That’s a bummer. The duck is really good!
That’s a mighty big bag you got there – enjoy!
It’s huge, but I am sharing with my sisters.
Sounds pretty yummy.
We are all enjoying it. Duck is nice for a change.
