Did you know you can create a dog bed out of a crib mattress? At our house we can never have enough dog beds, and we like all different kinds. Even though we are smaller dogs, huge beds are something we love because we can really stretch out, or we can share! If you are interested in a super cool new bed read through my post and enter the giveaway at the end!
My GBGV Life received the Molly Mutt crib-e™ cover in this post to review. My GBGV Life receives no additional benefits for barking about Molly Mutt products or the company. About a year and a half ago, I did a review of a Molly Mutt® Pillow Pack Kit. I have to say, it is one of the most popular beds in our house. One of us is always sleeping on it and if it by chance, is vacant, cat bro Bert moves in for a snooze! When I was asked to review a Molly Mutt crib-e™ cover, it was a no brainer to get my paws on one!
This Molly Mutt crib-e cover is giant, measuring 28″x52″x5″. A whole family could sleep on it if they are small, or perhaps you have a Great Dane or Newfie looking for a place to rest where the paws aren’t hanging off all sides? The cover will turn a crib mattress into a comfy dog bed, but if you are like me and don’t have a crib mattress, you can stuff it with pillows, a comforter, clothing, anything you would like to sleep on.
I opted to stuff my cover with a king size comforter folded up just right to fit. The cover zips open on two sides making it easy to get the crib mattress or any stuffing inside!
Did you know the crib-e dog duvet is:
- Made of 100% cotton canvas
- Available in eleven different patterns
- Very durable, our other one is always in use but looks brand new
- It is machine washable
- The zipper opens up on two sides for ease of use
- Sadly, it is too large to be a wearable fashion accessory for a hound like me
Watch out once you have the cover stuffed! My sisters seemed to know the exact moment and they raced in to test it out with two dogs! You have to admit, they look pretty comfy!
Being a larger bed, it is not as easy to move around, but don’t worry. Molly Mutt put a handy carrying handle on the end for your convenience!
Molly Mutt is a company I love because they not only make fun products, they seem to think of it all! What a great idea to repurpose a crib mattress or simply fill the duvet with stuff you have around the house and you have a dog bed in no time!
Since I’m from England, I feel like I might just be the queen of Molly Mutt beds/duvet covers! It’s a title I am proud to accept!
Now don’t delay, get your paws on a Molly Mutt crib-e cover and create a dog bed out of your crib mattress, or just stuff it full of stuff. Your dog will love it!

I love this idea to make your own bed this way…. I think we should collect my victims… they make a mighty fine bed I’m sure :o)
Maybe leave out the boat shoe, though, it would be lumpy.
Wish I had the room. When you live in an apartment it is hard to have more than 1 bed in a room. But it does look comfy.
This is true. We have a lot of space, thus a lot of beds. We really love the Molly Mutt covers as they are fun, comfy and super easy to wash.
I would like the time after time pattern. What a good idea to recycle.
We use old pillows in some of our dog and cat beds. We dogs love the smell of humans on old things which makes us love our beds stuffed with them even more.
We like the royals pattern
You sound like you are from England like me with the Royal thing! I love all the patterns.
WOW! Mom went out and bought crib mattresses for beds and velour baby sheets in brown(we get muddy). Elbe chewed the covers, and started on one of the mattresses, so Mom said they go to babies. Chablis.
ps if Elbe would stop his infernal chewing, we would have a lot more things around our home.
We live with explosive Bailie. She has stopped her daily bed shredding, but every few weeks she gets the urge and a pillow or bed explodes. So far, she has never attempted to destroy a Molly Mutt cover. We all love them so we are happy they are not destroyed.
That looks really nice, but sadly won’t work for us in the RV. Torrey would no doubt love a bed that big though.
Maybe it is time for her to have her own RV? 🙂 One does need space for a larger bed.
My favorite of their designs is the Romeo & Juliet. I also really like the Title Track design, since the green would match my living room and TV room.
We were in the warm feeling mood with the Title Track, but they have so many nice designs it is hard to choose.
What a great idea to repurpose a crib mattress! I think everyone has old comforters stuck in their closets too. I think Molly Mutt has done it again!
They have. I wonder why I don’t think of these things!
Pawsome!
3 bum swings! 3 more!
Good luck to everyone!

Great beds!
Love wild horses and Romeo and Juliet
This is such a great idea! I especially love the stylish choices they have. I think it would be nice to have a bed the dogs could share…they like to sleep on our overstuffed chair together. But I’m not sure we have the floor space for a bed this big! 🙂
Just put the couch out in the garage and make room for the dog furniture…it would be the right thing to do, LOL! I think we have more dog stuff around our house than Mom has human furniture!
That looks like a great idea!!!
They have several great bed ideas!
That’s pretty cleaver
It works great stuffed with our own bedding stuff since we don’t have a crib mattress.
i love the rough gem design. i need a new cover for one of the mattress i have, the girls chewed a hole in the cover. this would be great.
Molly Mutt has so many great patterns! Good luck!
I like time after time
What a fabulous way to repurpose a crib mattress and use it for your furry babies. Their products are so pretty too. I just love these photos, especially the pay in the handle and can on my head shots – so adorable!

I have to do something out of the norm to grab attention you know. Molly Mutt makes fabulous products.
Let me get this straight, Emma. You did all the work to fold the comforter just right and then you stuffed the comforter into the Molly Mutt crib-e cover and then the minute your new comfy bed was ready to be enjoyed your two little sisters plopped down on it? Isn’t that just like little sisters?
You understand the little sister concept perfectly. Just imagine if you had two and not just one little sister!
The Rough Gem pattern would match my furs pawfectly! These look like a big enough for our whole pack!
xoxo,
Arty
For you little ones, you could all spread out and still have room for more!
Oh our mom lovez that idea butt like u – no crib mattress here – got plenty of other stuff 2 uze an’it iz big enuf so may-b both me an’Miss Maizie cood lay on it – IF I let her. Lady Shasta’n Miss Maizie
Stuffing with stuff is what I did too because we have no crib mattress here either. It works great!
I would choose the navy constellation pattern for my dog.
Would you believe we are already using a crib mattress for a bed! It was supposed to be used to help Sampson step up onto the bed, but most nights, he ends up sleeping on it.
Well then, he needs a good cover!
