Who wants to make 4th of July Strawberry Poppers with me today? While Mom and my sisters were on their ridiculous road trip over the weekend, I whipped up this refreshing recipe for the upcoming holiday to share with you all! The thing I love about these refreshing treats, besides the taste, is you can eat them, and so can your dog!
Talk about simple! You only need three ingredients to make these tasty deserts!
- Low fat cream cheese – softened
Start out by nicely washing all the berries. It would add flavor, but detract from the look, if the berries had dirt on them!
The strawberries need to have the stems removed, and tops cut off to make a nice flat base for the berry to sit on.
Next up, carefully using a knife, cut an “X” in the other end, and push it apart creating an opening for the cream cheese. Take it easy, as strawberries will rip apart easily if you push too hard.
Put the softened cream cheese in a piping bag, or plastic bag with the tip cut open. Pipe the cream cheese into the center of the strawberry.
Top off the filled strawberry with a blueberry to give it that “pop.” I always like to use festive plates to serve my creations to make them look even better.
Never forget to taste your work. It would be terrible to serve something you have not tried out yourself. Sometimes I taste several of my creations to make extra sure they are really yummy. The hard part is not eating them all when you are tasting!
What is the only problem with my 4th of July Strawberry Poppers? They disappear way too fast! Before you know it, the plate is empty! You should give these a try! They are so easy to make, festive looking, taste great, and you can share them with your dog!
