Bailie is getting back on the road again, thanks to Dr. Julia, and Twin Cities Animal Rehab. The muscle injuries to her back right leg/hip area happened about ten weeks ago. Since her first appointment and following diagnosis at TC Rehab, we are thankful she’s been on a treatment plan that is working. Her summer has been lacking in some of the normal fun because of her restrictions, but those are starting to ease up.
Last Tuesday was her ultrasound recheck appointment. Since her last of six ultrasound therapy sessions in mid July, she has been slowly increasing her walking time, along with adding in stretches and muscle building exercises. She also had to get another fur shave, hopefully the last one. Thursday, she was off to the spa to get her furs done, and all the ultrasound gel out. At least with her more thin furs and colored skin, people often don’t even notice she is shaved!
For the three weeks until her next appointment the beginning of September, she is allowed to start running again. The running trio, Mom, Bailie, and Madison are all so thrilled about that! Dr. Julia gave Mom a training plan that involves minutes of running/walking intervals for a total of two and a half miles, every other day, with 45 minute walks on the non running days. So far, so good. The trio is loving being on the road again, and Bailie’s leg is doing well.
The bad news, Bailie and Madison are not happy about, is that they can’t play chase yet. Maybe after the September appointment, she will be cleared for chase. Mom is letting the two of them out in the yard together at times of the day when she knows they don’t normally play chase.
Overall, Bailie is looking forward to a good future without any further problems from the muscle strains. The ultrasound check showed the sartorius injury is all but completely gone. The TFL strain has really shrunk, but there is some flexible scar tissue still there. Everything else looks great! We are all thankful for having a great specialist so close to where we live, and we are thankful Bailie’s injury is healing so well.

Oh hooray, I can’t imagine how happy sweet Bailie is to be moving some again! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
She is slowly moving back to normal, thank dog.
that are good news! and we are sure after your september appointment the chasing season is open again ;O))
We really hope so!
What great news! Happy for the 4 of you.
Thank you. My sisters are happier already just doing more stuff together.
Wahoo!! Great news, Emma! Sounds like your mom is excellent at following plans and making everyone stick to them! It’s so awesome that things are going well for Bailie. That face of hers is too adorable! We all look forward to the return of Chase! have a great day, your doodle friend Dash
I think Mom might miss chase and wrestle more than my sisters do! At least things are moving in the right direction and normal is in sight.
Fantastic news – so nice when a plan comes together. Your mom has done a great job with your exercises and rehab to make sure she gets her running buddy back in good shape.
It’s been hard on Mom and my sisters, but they can see an end to the resting.
That’s great news!! I bet she is so happy about that.
We all are! Summer is never our favorite time of year anyway, but this injury has made it even worse.
We are so happy that Bailie can get moving again. I know there will be an epic game of chase in the very near future.
We hope so, but honestly, Mom is afraid of that first game.
That is such good news!! We sure hope this stage goes well and Bailie and Madison can return to their chase games real soon!
xoxo,
Rosy, Jakey & Arty
We think it is going well. They started running 3 mins, walking one, then 5/1, and tomorrow it is 8/1.
Wonderful news and we’re happy you can run again although we felines never run when we can walk and never walk when we can lay down!
Purrs & Head Bonks,
Alberto
LOL! Yes, my kitties are rather lazy too.
Four dogs and two cats, did I count right? I’ll have to learn more about this adorable breed. Congrats on the progress, so much like people PT where any progress is a cause for celebration. I think I have those same shoes in blue, are those Chacos?
3 GBGV’s and two cats. The shoes are Brooks Ghostrunners.
We know it’s been a tough process, but we’re so glad for all of you that such good progress has been made, and things are slowly but surely getting back to normal!
We are so happy we see an end to it all!
A light at the end of the tunnel! YAY Bailie!! I’m soooo happy for all of you, but especially the sweet patient!
She is already so much happier because she is getting to be included in so many things again. When she had to rest always, she looked so sad.
We are so thankful Bailie is mending on schedule and there won’t be any permanent damage. More healing purrs headed her way. Tuiren sympathizes with having to rest when everyone else is playing, it’s NO FUN.
It’s been a tough couple of months, but it could have been much worse.
We are thankful you are on the mend. This has been a journey for you so it is great to see hope and fun ahead.
We wish we knew how it happened. To be so serious and not even notice when it happened it crazy!
Wagnificent news Bailie!
Pawsitive energy & strength ?

Thank you. It’s so nice to be getting back to normal.
What good news! I’m sure you’re all happy about this. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that chase isn’t too far away!
We’ve hit some speed bumps with running, but walking is still going well.
