Mom took me and Olivia for a fun fall walk in the woods the other day. It was cold out, but in the woods there wasn’t much wind, and the sun was out. We went around Jensen Lake which I have done a lot, but it was Olivia’s first time. It is just under a forty minute walk, so not too long for a puppy. She loves to get out and explore new areas with all the great smells.
Doing some photo posing is always on the list when we walk here. Olivia was not into posing on the bench at all! She wanted to get down and keep exploring.
This summer we never went walking here because of all the rain. It tends to get really muddy, and the lake was higher than normal. They did build these nice elevated walking paths, but we figured it would still be messy. Jensen Lake is next to us and you can see it has a layer of white snow and ice on it.
Mom has been coming to this lake for over thirty years and says it has changed a lot. She used to come and float around on an air mattress with a friend of hers sometimes. How silly is that? They cut down a lot of trees and really opened up the woods since we were last here in the spring.
By the big covered picnic area, there is a nice scenic overlook. We like to stop here to see the whole lake, and sometimes take a photo or two.
Olivia was asked to sit on this tree that has fallen down. It looks like she is daydreaming. I wonder if she is dreaming of catching one of the many squirrels we saw on our fall walk in the woods. Those squirrels are busy trying to stock up on food for the winter.
As we approached the end of our walk, Olivia stopped to thank me for letting her come along with me on the walk. It was a lot of fun, and hopefully we will get back there again soon. Do you have some fun places you love to go for walks in the woods?
We are joining our friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard for their Nature Friday blog hop.
A fun day. Nice the girls like to do it together.
It’s always more fun with at least one sister.
Oh I’m with Olivia. I just love to get out and go exploring in the woods (or anywhere, really, and the muddier the better….)
Emma, it was so nice of you to let both Olivia and all your blog friends join you on this lovely walk.
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
that was sweet to say thank you for such a fabulous walk… your little sis has much much better manners than little brother LOL
Our only little brother is the cat, and we all know what a mess he is!
Pretty walk. Have. Great weekend.
Thank you. Enjoy your puppies.
Looks like a wonderful place for a walk! Our county park in town is a great place to go, too; but like Jensen Lake, it gets too muddy when it rains.
Yeah, we don’t mind the mud, but Mom doesn’t like mud at all for some reason.
We love walking!! But do you know that mom sometimes takes my brother without me? On Sundays they have a special routine on a nature
trail! Mom says its too much for me and that my brother needs the exercise and stimulation. He is nice and tired when they come home but come on mom! I want to go!! Your pictures are great. We love hearing about your adventure with little Olivia!! have a great day! your friend Lilly.
We rotate around with walking/runs alone with Mom, and who gets to walk with Olivia sometimes. It is good to learn to walk on your own with your mom too.
What a nice place to walk and take wonderful photos. You two are lovely, but Bailie – what happened to your beautiful spa day hair do? Have a happy weekend! XOXO, Sparkle
That walk was actually the day before spa day, so that should clear up the furs problem, LOL!
What a lovely walk you always have. You are great posers.
Have a woof woof day and weekend. My best to your peeps. β₯
Mom always likes to find different places to walk so none of us get too bored.
You girls sure look terrific and I’m glad you had a fun time!
A walk in the woods is always fun.
What a beautiful day you had for a Sister walk. Olivia I can surely understand you not wanting to pose when your nose was catching all the wonderful scents.
Hugs Cecilia
Being 7 months old, her patience can be pretty short sometimes.
Big sisters are the best, when they let you tag along, Olivia! That looks like a very nice walk, perfect for this time of year. Our frigid cold finally let up (for one day anyway), so Luke and I had a nice walk in our own woods this morning.
You are lucky to live right in the woods. I hope you have some nice trails to walk on.
What a gorgeous spot for a walk! Beautiful shots, girls!
Thank you. It was a lot of fun.
you have the best parks. Sadly, our nicest parks do not permit dogs….go figure
We have a lot of nice walking parks around, so we are pretty lucky.
What a pretty autumn walk! Rosy doesn’t like to pose on benches either, to much to do!
xoxo,

Maybe it is a thing with the young ones.
It does look like a great place to go exploring!
We love to go walking around there.
Such fun!
We love walking on the peeps bike trail. Lots of smells and things to pee on!
Just watch out so you don’t get mowed down by bikes!
