What does your dog really want from you? Have you ever wondered? Is she looking for treats, hugs, a car ride? Something more, something less? What every dog wants turns out to be super simple.
Dogs want you! If you come with treats, games, walks, that is a bonus, but every dog really just wants to spend as much time as they can with their human. This is why we are happy to just lie at your feet or go on an adventure as long as we are with you.
We live in the moment, not worrying about the past or the future. In the moment if you are taking us for a nice walk, we are thankful to be out and about with you. Our human is our focus. Humans make us happy, and care for us.
Playtime with your pup is super fun and important. Dogs love to play, but if their human joins in the game and has fun too, they are over the moon happy! Even a game of chase or hide and seek is super fun for us and for you. Try to include even just five minutes of play a day if you can.
Sports are such a fun way to spend time with us. They also help us both learn to communicate better with each other. The ribbons and winning at the game are things humans really want, but in the end, being together is what matters. Playing a game together, and spending time with each other is very special. It is something that only you and your dog share together.
Food also makes our humans special. You provide us with food, water, and shelter, the basics we need to live. We may not know how important good food is for us, but every time we receive food it is a gift because we don’t have to find it on our own.
What does your dog really want from you? Take time every day to show your pup how much you love her. Do something fun together, or just hang out doing nothing, but together. Time we get to spend with you is all we want. We don’t ask for anything fancy, expensive, or special, just time with you.

We couldn’t have said it any better!!! We agree on every point. We love mom so much that when she sits on a chair— we both figure out a way to sit on her! Yep, Mom is the bestest thing in the whole world. We try to keep the cats away from her so we can have her all to ourselves. You have an awesome mom.

I loves to give my mom kisses and sometimes I wrap my paws around her neck and gives her a hug! I give kisses first thing in the morning while we are still in bed, and then Puffin gets her turn. We take turns being lap dogs and kissers throughout the day. Mom and I used to play tug and fetch with toys until Puffin arrived. We plays hard many times a day! I love my mom and so does Puffin. Mom tries to get some alone time with each of us every day for play, walking or snuggling. Olivia has a hard time sharing Mom, but she will learn. You and Puffin have an amazing mom.

It’s so true! No matter what we’ve done all day, Luke is just as happy if I just sit on the couch with him in the evening (and scratching his chest or belly makes him even happier). Sometimes he’ll whine and I wonder if he wants to play or wants (another) treat, and while those would be fine too, he really just wants us to be beside him. ♥
That is it. Our world is our human(s), and we simply want to be with you as much as possible.

I enjoy spending time with Alex – he’s my shadow at home! He greets me at the door when I come home from work and is soooo happy (me too!) to see me.
We great Mom as if she was gone for months even if it was only a few minutes. Dogs love our humans.

It’s important to give us special attention at least once a day. Even a few minutes means a lot to us.
I’ve been babysitting the grands all week and when I come home, I’ve got two shadows the rest of the night. Skip is there with them during the day but they miss Mom.
We have the pack mentality, plus moms are extra special 😉

Exactly. We love to be with the family, no matter what we are doing. Sometimes we like to go out alone with Mom, but it is great to be back together with everyone later.
