Never give up even if your partner is a dog. Sunday I had a little half day nose work element trial in the woods. Last weekend in the woods didn’t go so well, but Mom and I promised each other to work harder this time. Comparing things, this week was actually tougher than the entire day last week, but we continued to push onward.
In an element trial search times are short, and being as I am not a speed dog, it makes things more difficult. Add in the issues Mom and I have been having with communication and the woods was not the best place for us to be. No matter, I was super happy to have Mom all to myself, and I got to see lots of my other human and dog friends. I love seeing friends!
The searches were hard because they were not typical. Hides were actually on trees, in the ground, on logs, things that I enjoy sniffing every day for critters. Mom says I’m hard to read on a normal day, but trying to decide if I was on odor or on critters was tough for her. On the plus side, she felt like I was working and trying hard in all my searches which is true. The silly leaves are always hanging off my beard, even when I’m just waiting for my turn.
At the end of the day, there were eight hides. I found seven, but Mom only had the guts to call five. We needed six for a leg, so we went home with nothing but more experience working as a team in the great outdoors. Up north last weekend, there were also eight hides, I found five and Mom only called three, so we did make progress in the past week. I’m not the easiest partner, but I love to sniff, so Mom will never give up on me. Together we will get back on track. I know we will have lots of happy times as we keep trying too!
We found this quote on a friend’s blog Monday, and found it is a perfect fit for team pink right now.

My GBGV Life is happy, so we’re joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!

we will think about your saying… from now on always and we never give up… and if we fail, we fail even better next time, but that’s not giving up, right?
Actually, it works with our commenting issues as well. So nice to see you able to comment here again!
OMD! That sounds like a tough experience. I love your philosophy of the situation, and my interpretation is keep on keeping on! XOXO, Sparkle
Our mom is very competitive and not good at losing. She gets real down when it doesn’t go well, but then in the car on the way home she can mentally reset and be ready to give it another try and do better.
Yay! I am back and nor forbidden. Sparkle
It looks like almost everyone is back, yay! Thank dog for our tech person!
What happens if you call a hide and it is not a hide?
It depends on the trial level. You will always get a “no”, but at some levels you can keep searching but you lose points. At my NW3 level, I can’t title, but I could get a leg towards a title with only one “no”. Let’s say, “no” is never a good thing to hear in life!
testing my abilities on Tuesday

Thank you for commenting many ways and we are so thrilled our issue may be resolved finally! Persistence pays off!
As the ladies are saying never give up!! Love that chair pose.
Hugs Cecilia
Thank you. Mom is supposed to be on the chair, but she isn’t one who likes to sit much.
I haven’t given up on anything since my final typing (speed) test in high school. I was just fed up and impatient that day. All these years later, I don’t have to be fast at anything any more. But I do still get impatient at times, but I don’t give up. 😊
We get frustrated, but if we step away, regroup, and try again, we are good. Giving up is not a solution.
It’s all about the game – win or not. Oh, and the treats, all about the treats!
It’s all about the game, but one needs to win now and then to keep it interesting for the humans. We always enjoy the treats part.
It sounds like you really did pretty good and having fun is the best part of any outing!
You always have a fun time with mom, no matter where you are. Being with mom is a good thing.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. My best to your siblings and your mom. ♥
And we all cherish alone time since usually we are at least with one other sister.
If at first you do not suceed….try try again! Cheers!
And we will keep trying until we get what we want to earn.
Harriet Beecher Stowe is one of our favorites for quoting. You both won – for trying. And it looks like it was a beautiful day to enjoy together. Trust the learning process together. Maybe mom needs to wear Pink when she is out with you so that SHE knows she is part of TEAM Madison? Works for us when Mom and I co-dress up.
People think we are funny because Mom does always wear the color of the dog she is trialing with. She even has coats in our colors!
It sounds like you did just fine to me, Madison, and had fun doing it and that’s the most important thing.
We did have fun, but we have to work better together, so we are working on that.
Glad your comments are working again! It looks like you learned some good stuff and provided the rest of us with good advice too!
Thank dog the comments are working. We were so frustrated and felt so bad for all that were having trouble. It was some plug in our previous web person installed that was causing all the issues.
We love that you never give up, and always keep trying. That Ms. Stow makes a good point, and we bet you will just get better and better!
My whole phantom pregnancy thing last year really messed me up. We are still working through that damage, but we will succeed.
We know you and your Mom will keep trying! I didn’t know they did trials in the woods….that does sound quite challenging!
You can do trials anywhere they will let you have dogs, amusement parks, car museums, old prisons, lots of fun places.
With practice, you will keep getting better!
We are always practicing, and one day things will click again, we know it will.
Never ever give up, especially if your partner is a dog! I have learned that with Shyla and now with Hachi! You will find your way.
Getting back to being a well oiled machine is a long road since my issues with the phantom pregnancy last year, but we keep working on it. You sure do know what we mean with your pups and all the things they have and are going through.
