It’s the sniffer wrap up from our Scent Work weekend at the fairgrounds in Faribault. We’ve all been to several trials there the past couple of years and we always seem to have a good time. This year was no exception. Saturday only me and Nelson sniffed, thus only the two of us with the sign. Bailie stayed home this weekend because she and Madison both need the same things so it would be pointless for her to come along to be in her kennel for nothing.
During the day we spend a lot of time in our kennels waiting to go for a walk, or to search. Mom says she can’t trust me and Nelson, so we are still in wire crates. Both of us enjoy being loud too. Mom covers our crates with sheets when she is not there with us so we stay quiet. Life is seriously tough!
Madison is proud to say she earned her first title in Masters, and of all things, in buried hides! The other couple searches she did were not so Grand. As long as she gets to bring home a pretty pink ribbon, she is happy! Her new title is SBM for Scent Work Buried Master.
I have my overall Masters title, so I am working on my Detective Title. This weekend I participated in four searches and qualified in two, getting fourth place in one of them. Detective is difficult as you have five to ten hides to find in a certain amount of time. If you think you are done and call finish, but you didn’t find them all, you get nothing. To get a Detective Title you need ten qualifying runs. I now have eight. It is a lot of fun at this level! Mom and I always have a great time, win or lose.
The sniffer wrap up is ending with the most successful weekend of all for Nelson. He also had eight more searches than Madison and I had. Nelson had twelve searches, six per day – containers, buried, and exterior. The little fellow qualified in ten of the twelve with seven of those being place fourth or better. He earned his Novice Container Title, SCN, and Advanced Exterior Title SEA, as well as two legs in buried novice and two legs in advanced containers. Not bad for an eight month old puppy! He loves sniffing and he hopes he will grow up to be like me.
Mom wanted a photo of the three of us together with our ribbons but there were thirty plus mph winds so it wasn’t possible. Nelson’s ribbons blew away a couple times while Mom was attempting to get his photo! It sure is good to be back at sports instead of those dog shows!
My GBGV Life is happy, so weβre joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
Congratulations to the three of you! Your ribbons are so beautiful and very impressive.
This club always has super fancy ribbons and we love that!
Cheers for all of you … and good job to young Nelson on a super start!
He is doing well and has a lot of fun sniffing too which is most important.
You three had a pawsitively winning weekend! Baby brother sure is catching on quickly! Bravo! XOXO Sparkle
He wants to be just like me one day. I don’t know if he will be that good, but he is having fun and doing well. Hope you guys are alright with the hurricane on the way.
Nelson, I think your mom’s wish is going to come true and your are going to out- sniff all of your sisters!!!! You are a Super sniffer!!! Of course, Olivia is too; she has been sniffing a lot longer than you.
Mom says I will be hard to beat, but Nelson is looking pretty good for his age and he loves it.
OMDs the word Faribault…is such a fun word to try to pronounce and see written. With my southern accent I’d probably butcher the pronunciation. Well done my friends and OMDs 30 MPH wind makes GBGV ears fly…
Hugs Cecilia
It was crazy windy and Mom didn’t think Nelson would be able to find hides in that wind, but he sure did and even got a placement!
congrats to you… you are just fantabulous… good things come in threes and the best anyway ;O)
We are in 3’s a lot around here. Maybe you boys need a little sister?
What a wonderful weekend you had. Wow on all those beautiful ribbons. Well done.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
It wasn’t perfect, but we all did well and worked hard. Most importantly, we all enjoyed some sniffing.
Sports are much more fun than the beauty pageant!
No kidding! Poor Nelson still has to endure that pageant stuff for a while, but he knows sports are waiting for him!
Wow! What a great weekend. Congrats to all of you. Nelson might just become an all round star in sniffing and bring a show dog.
Mom expects him to get his championship as a show dog and also do very well with his sports. Guys are supposed to love sports and he already does. Mom can hardly settle him down to get to work some times he is so crazy wild.
That sure is terrific, congratulations you two. Nelson, you’re gonna be a sniffing force fur sure!
I’m taking advice from Olivia because she is a pro.
We think you are going to keep your Mama busy with all types of sporting events Nelson…you’re soooo talented. Of course, we’re sure you get it from all your talented sisters!
xoxo,
Sunny
Olivia is my sports hero. She is so good and I want to be just like her.
You guys are getting more impressive everyday.
We just do what we love and happen to be good at.
Great job, everyone! Especially Mom, having to be on every search.
Yes, she had a lot of searches to do with the three of us, plus she was the volunteer coordinator for about 25 humans so the trial would run smoothly. We came home and went to bed early each night π
Nelson! you are doing terrific! Is that because your sisters are tutoring you? I know that Kozmo is always telling what and how to do things and sometimes I listen. I’m impressed with all your wins! Keep being awesome! Purrs Marv
Thank you. I spend a lot of time with Olivia and we both love our sports. She helps me out when I have questions about things.
Woohoo! We are so happy for you. Congratulations on those well-earned wins!
We are all pretty happy with our new titles and wins.
