Why is it so? Why when a home has eight dog beds, countless chairs, couches and other beds, does a dog decide to sleep on the hard wood floor. Can it really be comfortable? Nelson is the king of hard floor sleeping, even at nighttime. The weather is now cool, so it can’t be to stay cool. Is it a boy thing? We don’t know.
Why when there is a super cozy fuzzy bed on the couch, does Madison decide to sleep on the bare couch cushion? Normally, Madison loves something cuddly and cozy for sleeping but she always chooses the couch over the bed on the couch.
Why is it so that I am lying in a DOG bed WITH the cat? I was in the bed first and I like to nap in the sunshine. The cat came later and made himself at home. I didn’t want to disrupt my comfy napping spot to get rid of him. Sometimes the fight is simply not worth it. Please let it go on the record that after the sun moved, I too moved to my other bed and left that feline there where he so wanted to be.
What about Olivia? She doesn’t do weird things like the rest of us. She loves to be comfy, doesn’t like cold or hard surfaces, always sleeps in a bed even on the couch, and she won’t put up with the cat getting into her sleeping spot.
My GBGV Life joining Comedy Plus for the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
With all of those nice cushy places to sleep, Nelson, and with the cooler temps. How come?!
We girls find it weird, but he likes it that way.
All pups have their own wants and that’s all there is to it. You’re all so adorable. My favorite today is your pup and kitty napping together. Made me say Awww.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
Sometimes fighting with the cat over the bed is just not worth it,so I decide to leave him. There is enough room.
There is just explaining why we do what we do! Puffin and I like soft comfy surfaces, and we both love to get Mommy’s chair when she gets up. We also love to share her chair (and her bed) with her! XOXO Sparkle
We all love bed, although Nelson gets up and goes to sleep on the tile bathroom floor shortly after lights out. We don’t know why he does that.
maybe it’s a male thing? Dakota NEVER slept in his bed and Levi never does either!
Nelson does sleep in beds during the day off and on, but he really likes cold hard surfaces.
Oh you have all asked the 1,000,000 question that probably shall remain unanswered.
As the saying goes, pick your battles. Certainly not worth disturbing your slumber co-existing with your feline brother was very kind.
Hugs cecilia
Usually we kick the cat our of our beds when we want to use them, but some days we don’t feel like a fight.
Clover has five beds and sleeps in them all. Now thatβs crazy
We girls use all the beds, human and dog, around the house, but Nelson seems to have a love of hard floors.
What a great question(s). Mama says if you find the answer…could you please let her know because we have the same problem(minus Bert)!
We would be happy to send you Bert if you need a cat!
Great questions…..we have cat bro Clarence and he doesn’t sleep in any bed – he mostly just stays under furniture.
Our Sophie spent a lot of her life under the bed. Some cats are just very shy.
Our 4 legged friends will sleep where they want to! Doesnt always make sense!
We girls sleep in our beds almost all the time, but that brother of ours is in love with hard surfaces.
Those are really some interesting things to ponder but you do have a nice bunch of comfy places to choose from!
Mom has always made sure we have comfy beds all around the house but Nelson isn’t interested in them.
It’s amazing, the Creator never makes any two of us alike!
Every being is their own being and no two are the same.
different strokes for different folks? No such thing as a garden variety dog! Let’s here is for creativity!
We all have our own thing I guess.
Well, just don’t know why. I guess it is a good thing the cat did not snuggle up to you or lie on top of you. My girls have several beds and usually they nap in them. However, when it is hot sometimes they will nap on the cool floor near the ac vent or with the ceiling fan blowing on them. My girls run to my bed to see you gets in bed first. They have slept with every nite of their lives (since they were babies) except when one was at the ER ot I was in the hospital. I even slept on the floor with them at a dog show b/c my breeder said all 3 girls could not sleep in the bed.
We girls all enjoy comfort, our beds and the big bed upstairs at night. On super hot days we sometimes lie on the carpet on the floor, but never really on the hard surfaces like Nelson does. Sometimes Mom lies on the floor and takes a power nap with us.
Good Morning! I’m a little late to the “party”; but I can tell you from experience that it’s NOT just a boy thing. Callie and Shadow used to love sleeping on the hard, linoleum floor any time of the day and any season of the year. They also loved sleeping on the bed with me, on one of the dog beds, or on the couch or one of the chairs. Callie’s favorite spot in the house was in the bathroom against the side of the tub; and, of course, Shadow’s favorite spot was always wherever Callie happened to be…they were inseparable. Even after Callie left us, Shadow always sensed where Callie was and sought refuge there away from Ducky when necessary. (The poor girl really missed her older sister.)
Awww, such a sweet story. We girls like soft beds around here and if we do the floor it is on the carpet.
Sigh, our Mom asks the same questions. Cinnamon sleeps where she wants, sometimes the floor, sometimes the door mat, sometimes, Mom’s bed and sometimes one of her 3 dog beds but mostly she likes HER sofa! She NEVER EVER allows a cat to sleep with her!
Normally Bailie doesn’t either, but she got tired of fighting I guess!
