It was a fun and busy 2022 for me! I got to do lots of sports and tons of traveling. I also managed to earn some pretty good titles too! A lot of time was spent in the car, but it was worth it and I love going places.
My sports year started in March when I earned my Level 2 Interior Nose Work Title. Mom didn’t know if we could do it, but we did and it makes us both happy.
Next we took a wonderful road trip to Wyoming. On the way out, we saw the Bad Lands, and the Black Hills, including Mount Rushmore. It sure is beautiful out there! Wyoming is a place I had never been, so I got to add a state to my list. Now I have twenty two states visited.
Mom entered me and Olivia in Nose Work Trials in Laramie, WY. My trial was on the second day and we had so much fun searching an old prison! To Mom’s surprise, we only missed one hide and I earned my first NW3 Title! It sure makes a trip feel even better when you earn a pretty ribbon to take home! I had tried thirteen tries with no success before this Grand day.
May was kind of sad and disappointing. I was slotted to earn my FCAT Title after three runs but on my first FastCAT run, I tripped and hurt my right front leg. Thankfullly, it was not broken, but I had a lot of pain and I didn’t get to do much running or anything for almost six weeks. On the bright side, I got to do FastCAT again late in June and I earned my FCAT Title, only the second GBGV ever to do so. Of course, Olivia is the first, only because I was injured. This club handed out medallions instead of ribbons.
My busy 2022 continued on the same weekend with a surprising Barn Hunt Title. Mom said I would need several more Crazy 8’s runs to earn my bronze title but I proved her wrong and earned my Crazy 8’s Bronze Title in two runs! Being the family Barn Hunt specialist, it is fun to earn more titles in this sport. My siblings are all eating my dust in Barn Hunt, LOL!
In September I tried some Scent Work and I earned my Master Buried Title. Mom is hoping I can earn my overall Master’s Title in 2023. We are both glad I’m done with that stupid buried stuff! The club even has pretty pink ribbons for my new title.
My sports year ended on a super high note with a clean NW3 Title! We went to a local NW3 Trial and Mom said her only goal was that I worked and we both had fun. Well, to both of our surprise, I found all the hides with no mistakes and earned my second NW3 Title. Now I need one more and I could compete in Elite like Olivia.
It was definitely and fun and busy 2022 and I am looking forward to seeing what all we end up doing in 2023!
Twenty two states is amazing, Madison. You are such a superSmart girl and your ribbons are so beautiful and we know that you’ll be winning even more!
I’m hoping to add some more states and pretty ribbons in 2023, but Mom says we won’t be doing many big trips in the coming year. I’m excited to see how the year goes.
Madison if you must have set your paws in at nearly all of the mainland states!
Hugs Cecilia
I’m almost up to half of the fifty states. I’m hoping to hit twenty five in 2023. We shall see where trials take us.
There are only 50 states and look at you visiting almost half of them!! Wow! We love these wrap ups that you are writing. A great year for you all!!! Have a good day, your friends Chester and Lilly
I did have a pretty good year. I may not have earned a lot of titles, but the ones I did earn are pretty big ones for the most part. Mom is proud of me and we are working better together lately which is good. Olivia is the crazy one. She needs a book for her year!
You are amazing. What a sports woman. We are all proud of you!
We all have our things we love most and are good at. I love my sniffing but my very favorite thing is barn hunt. No one else in the family loves it like I do.
WAY TO GO MADISON!!! Look out 2023 – this girl is rocking it!
Mom has some high hopes for team pink in 2023. There is a master plan in her brain but some of it has weak links. We’ll see how it all plays out when we meet in a year.
Whoa, Madison. What a adventure-packed and amazing year you had! You are such a champ!
Thank you. I did pretty well at most things I tried this year. My nose work is funny because one trial I place very last and the next I get a title. We are working to even that out a bit.
You’ve had a wonderful year too. That prison I wanted to visit when I was near, but no one else wanted to go. I still want to go.
Have a fabulous day and rest of the week. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
You should go to that prison if you get the chance. It is so nice inside. The old broom factory where the prisoners worked is restored, the whole place is immaculate. It was super fun to get to be in a prison searching!
Madison, you had a wonderful year – except for that hurt foot. You’ll probably catch up with Olivia this coming year!
It was my leg, but since I’m short, I have a 1.5 point handicap so even though I run slower than Olivia, I get 1.5 times my speed in points. Olivia only gets her speed as her points. I am about 5 runs behind her right now.
That really was quite the year and I know your Mom is really proud of all you accomplished, and we’re proud of you too.
She is pretty happy with what I did this year and we have hopes for next year now.
Congratulations on a great year, i hope you continue to have fun and earn titles all through 2023.
Mom and I hope our bonding in sports continues and we get even better together as a team.
Wow, you have had a busy year! Congrats on all of your amazing wins!
Thank you. I had some pretty big ones that were unexpected.
congrats on a wonderful year. so very sorry about your injury, that you could have been the first, but it ended up being all in the family, so that was great. hopefully next year will be even brighter and better with no injuries.
It was a scary day for us all, but thankfully I came back from it and was able to get my title. It would have been nice to have been first but it wasn’t meant to be.
Olivia! We think you are doing wonderfully well! What an amazing job you did this year! We think that you are totally extraordinary and will do even better in 2023! Olivia, you ROCK!
We have lots of hopes and dreams for the new year.
Keep on keeping on! Happy 2023.
Happy New Year to you!
