Professional sniffing photos are hard to come by. Most trials don’t offer photographers but when they do, we love to get our photos. We can learn a lot from videos, but still photos teach us a lot as well, and they are fun to have. We are reversing the order today, so Nelson is showing off his stuff first! the hide was in the green flower boxes. Nelson knows it and is getting ready for his treats.
At the fall AKC Scent Work Trial they had a roaming photographer, Julie Lawrence, who captured a few of Nelson’s exterior searches. He did such a good job. The guy loves food and he understands the way to food is to find the right odor and let Mom know. Yes, it is in the trash can handle.
The photos we have today will also show you how Mom changes her colors to match us. Lime green is Nelson’s color. He found the hide on the loading dock which totally surprised Mom. Each of his searches had three hides and he found them all.
Olivia is up next with photos from her Elite Nose Work Trial at Boomers Stadium in Schaumburg, IL. Her first search of the day was the maintenance area out back of the stadium. There were seven hides, she found six and placed fourth. This is a typical posture for Olivia once she is on the hide. It is in the pallet right where her nose is.
This is another pallet hide which a lot of teams missed. Olivia passed by several times but could not figure it out. Finally she passed at the right time and direction and caught the odor. It is deep inside the pallet she has her nose on.
Her last search of the day was upstairs in one of the club rooms. There were four hides, all of which she did find. This is the third one she found underneath the table. Mom loves how she bends her body to get her nose as close as possible to the hide. Thank you to Shawn Rossmann for taking photos at this trial. We did purchase all the photos in this post for our own personal use.
Madison had her NW3 Trial about twenty minutes from home. It was a chilly fall day but nice for dogs working a lot outside. This is her first exterior search. One of the two hides was on the wagon right about where her nose is in the photo. Caprise Adams is our local star trial photographer.
Her container search was also outside. At the venue there really isn’t much of a selection for interior searches, so all but one search was done outdoors. We see these toolboxes a lot in trials.
The second exterior search had one hide which was actually in the bark of the tree stump roughly where Madison is sniffing. Team Pink aced the trial and got their second NW3 Title. Thank you to Caprise Adams, our local photographer for taking the professional sniffing photos. She also took the ones of me that you will see next.
I had a Nose Work Container Trial at the same venue as Madison’s trial. Containers are kind of boring for sniffing and for photos, but Team Purple got a few good ones for me to post. You may notice, it is the toolboxes again in the same location.
Mom doesn’t always trust me as we have had some issues. Here I told her this is a hide and she wasn’t sure about it, so I scowled at the judge for help. She didn’t help me, but Mom did call it finally which was all I wanted.
This was our search of the day. Only four dogs found the one and only hide and I was one of them! In Container Trials, they often elevate the containers which can make things more difficult sometimes. We had fun, and only passed the one search, but that is how it is when I go to trials! Having a photographer at trials is really something we are thankful for. I hope you enjoyed some family sniffing photos.
My GBGV Life is happy, so weβre joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
You are all such smart dogs and we love how you and your mom match outfits! Your photos are all wonderful!
We love it when there is a photographer and it is a good one. We had a few that were not so good and we didn’t buy our photos but these two are the best we know of and they do a good job. The third one is new at this but she does pretty well too with Nelson’s photos at least.
Fantastic photos! And great work!
Thank you. We love professional photos of us working.
Great sniffers one and all and here’s another thing I noticed today. You’re color coordinated. Your shoes, hair band and coat/jacket are the same colors. Beautiful.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches to all the precious furbabes. β₯
Yep, Mom dresses to match each of us as we each have our own sports color. It is fun and it makes getting dressed for a trial pretty easy for Mom. If more than one of us compete on the same day, she mixes the colors of the dogs competing.
Hi all!! First off β we love all of your ideas for posts. Your editorial team is very clever and creative! A whole post about professional pics!! Awesome. We
love each photo and story. Second – what are the colors? We think we know β¦ Madison is team pink β¦ Olivia is green? What is Bailie? is she Team Purple? And how about baby boy? We arenβt sure. We
love that your mom dresses in the team colorsβ she is so awesome. Have a great day! your friends Lilly and Chester
Mom loves the team color thing that she started. Emma was red and that is where it all began. Bailie is purple, I’m pink, Olivia is orange, and Nelson is lime green. It is fun and builds our team feeling.
Oh my dogs what wonderful talented noses you all have.
Please tell mom I love how she coordinates your leashes with her wardrobe. Very snazzy
Hugs cecilia
Actually, she coordinates her clothes with our harnesses and leashes since each of us have our own team color. It is something she started years ago and continues because it is fun.
It’s always fun to see you sniffers in action!
Thank you. We love photos and videos of us working since we don’t see ourselves in the moment.
What great photos, we always enjoy watching you all work and we love how your Mama color coordinates everything…especially her shoes or shoe laces!!
xoxo,
Sunny and Rosy
Yep, she is always wearing the right color and she has a good plan for days when more than one of us is competing too π
Your photos always make me smile!
Thank you. We love our searching photos, sadly we rarely have photographers at our trials.
that is a lot of wardrobe changes to keep up with the gang, especially when they all compete. love the professional pics but like your as well. thank you for sharing
Mom loves bright colors, so our colors fit right into her wardrobe, but the shoes are special and she only wears them when we compete.
Your mom is definitely a team player! What good sniffer you all are! Bailie Maybe if you learned to scowl louder, your mom would catch on??
We have a lot of trust issues on our team. They were fixed once with a lot of hard work but then Mom had all the health issues and I reverted back to my old self. We haven’t taken the time to try to rebuilt another time as it is a ton of work for us both.
Those were sure fun to see, such wonderful photos!
We love it when we can get professional sniffing photos.
The photos are awesome and Nelson seems to be an up and coming sniffing star.
I may have to look into this as a photo opportunity in my area. Have a blessed day.
The problem is there are so many photos to edit, it overwhelms a lot of photographers and they just give up. The still photos are so nice to have and we learn a lot from them too.
Wow, those are terrific photos of you guys doing what you do. Bravo.
Thank you. There are a few really good photographers out there and we are happy when they capture us.
