Ah yes, a day in the life of cat bro Bert. We decided to let Bert post today as the host for Feline Friday has changed. Today we would like to support the new host. Hopefully you will enjoy seeing and reading about our pesty cat. Bert is a sunshine kind of boy and he likes to steal the dog bed that is in the sun, especially in the winter.
For some reason, he has decided that I am his favorite dog sibling. Is it a coincidence that I have the best bed in the house too? How in the world did I get so unlucky? I spend a lot of time in my dog bed. By my estimates, half the time, Bert is in there with me. He even has the nerve to get mad if I move around too much! My eyes are very expressive, you can see that, can’t you?
In the morning after breakfast, Bert spends his time napping on a desk chair in the back office room. We guess it is because that room is always a lot warmer than our office in the front of the house.
On his way to our office in the front of the house, he stops in the kitchen to get on the counter and yell at Mom. She hates him being on the counters, but he has always done it and she can’t get him to stop. He yells and yells, wanting cat treats. Bert will only get treats if he gets off the counter which he eventually will do.
Once and a while I get lucky and Bert decides to sleep in the second dog bed which is right next to mine. I can’t understand why he prefers my bed since it is rather worn and is full of dog smells.
Speaking of smells, I think Bert may have passed out in my bed. He sleeps like this a lot, but so far has never suffocated himself.
A day in the life of cat bro Bert would not be complete in the winter without some fireplace time before bed. He will lay there and back until he is hot to the touch. Hope you enjoyed some Bert today. We know everyone loves him, but trust me, if you lived with him, you might feel differently.
We are joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop held by Messy Mimi’s Meanderings.
You look so warm and happy in the sunshine, Bert, and he obviously loves you lots, Bailie!
He does love to be warm by cuddling or the sunshine.
Well, Bert, Feline Fridays makes sense to me – lookin’ good!
Once in a blue moon I get to do one.
Bert is very handsome.
He is looking old these days. Ever since he lost half his fur in the spring, he started aging fast. Luckily his fur all came back.
Awww Bert- you love the sun puddles and the warm fireplace! I do too! Cheers!
He does love anything that creates heat.
Feline Friday? I hope our cat doesn’t hear about this!
I know, it is a problem when the cat wants to take over!
Bert’s a typical wonderful, frustrating, impossible, precious cat, and i appreciate the detailed account of his day. Thanks for participating in Feline Friday!
He is a real piece of work! Thank you for hosting!
Cats always migrate to the warm places and he looks very comfy in all of them, including your bed!
He does always look for the warm spots.
Hi Bert!! It’s Roary and it is ALWAYS good to see you!! You have a pretty boring day like I do MOL!!
He is old, and does sleep most of the day. Even when he was outside a lot in the summer we found him snoozing on the deck a lot.
We think you are pretty darn patient Bailie…I’m not sure I could share my bed with Bert!
xoxo,
Rosy
I try to get him out, but he refuses to leave and keeps coming back. I’m stuck because I refuse to let him have my bed.
We’re Bert fans here too, of course we are, but y’all are so kind to him and I know he secretly appreciates it.
He has had a good home since he was adopted around three years old, so he is a lucky kitty.
You sure have a cushy life, cutie pie! Love the face plant π
He is a pain in the furs a lot of the time, but he can be funny too.
Bert! Buddy! Its great to see you on the blog. Our hairy slobbet sister Cinnamon says she feels the same way about us cat as your furrblings feel about you, it must be the dogh/cat thing…and what is it about Peeps? Waiting until we do what they want before we get the treats, no matter how much we yell at them. Keep being awesome! Purrs Marv
Dogs and humans can really put a damper on a cat! I’m glad I’m not the only one suffering.
