Last weekend Mom and I provided some Christmas decorating help at Gramma’s house. Some things like the pretty planters out front were already done. She has a service that comes by and changes out the plants several times a year. The holiday ones this year are really pretty!
The week before Thanksgiving Mom and Gramma always go get her poinsettia. She likes a “triple” one. Back in the seventies, Mom’s dad started buying poinsettia trees at Lynde Greenhouse. Gramma still buys her poinsettia there each year, except for last year. Sadly, some teenagers set fire to the place and it all went up in flames. It was a massive three alarm fire that took hours to put out. Thankfully, the kids have been caught and the greenhouse is back in business.
I have gone along in the past as the store is dog friendly. This year I didn’t go. You know I don’t like car rides, and Mom said she had her hands full with Gramma and a cart. They were also having a big event with Santa that day, so we thought it might be busy. Lucky for Mom and Gramma, they waited until later to go and only a few people were still there. Lynde grows all sizes and shapes of poinsettias, as well as a large selection of colors.
Mom was sad I didn’t come along as the set up scene for Santa was super cute. She wished I was along for a photo there. I was much happier staying home, and I think Mom gets plenty of photos of me without that one.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, aka, Gramma’s house, I was busy with the Christmas decorating help. Remember Santa Bear. One of us pups tries to take a photo with him every year. He is old, but still looks like a cub!
Mom lived in Germany for ten years, and the Erzgebirge Raeuchermaennchen are a big deal over there. We have a couple at our house, and Gramma has this Santa with his work table. They are really nice decorations. They have special candles you put inside them and then they actually smoke.
Last but not least, do you gnome what this is? It is Gramma’s gnome Christmas tree. It even lights up if you put batteries in it. I think he is super cute. We got him for Gramma a few years ago when she stopped putting up a tree. She likes gnomes and he is the perfect mini tree. There is so much stuff to see for Christmas at Gramma’s house, but these things are a few of my favorites.
My GBGV Life is happy, so we’re joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!

Gramma’s house is looking beautiful with all of the Christmas decorations. You are a great helper, Bailie!
I love to help out and she always appreciates my being right there to help.

They are at all the Weihnachtsmarkts. We are out of candles, but they are still good when they don’t smoke.

Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches all around and a hug to mom. ♥
Thank you. She has so many old decorations with lots of meaning and stories behind them.
That greehouse sure looks like a nice one and I’m glad the evil firestarters were caught. You sure look pretty today!
It is a wonderful place and they grow most of the poinsettias in our area, so it is good they are back.
Your Grandma’s house is wonderful and I really love the gnome tree! It would be perfect here, it could be put where the cats could not bother it.
It is cute and even cuter at night when he lights up.
