Today is all about Bailie’s travels. I enjoy new places but I can’t stand the car rides to get places. It doesn’t matter if it is five minutes or twenty five hours, I never sit down, I shake and pant the entire time. It makes Mom sad, but I can’t help it. We’ve tried medications and other things but nothing helps. I have been this way since the day I arrived at my new home.
Despite my dislike of cars, sometimes I have to go, there is no choice. It’s hard to believe I’ve been to twenty four states in the past twelve years. I have not done a road trip since September 2022. My first travel was from my birthplace in Missouri to Minnesota in September 2013.
In November 2013 I had my first major road trip – twenty five hours to Fort Myers, Florida with Katie and Emma. This trip included two hotel stays each way. While there, Emma took me to the dog beach on the gulf coast in Bonita Springs. The water was warm and crystal clear. At least I can say I have had my paws in the ocean as have all of my siblings. Mom got salt water on her lens, thus the blurry spots.
In May 2014 I traveled to Lake Las Vegas with Emma for BlogPaws. We went through Nebraska, Colorado, Utah and finally landed in Nevada. Because of heavy snow in the mountains, we had to go home another way and hit Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas. Everyone loves Utah. I have to agree with Mom, though. It is pretty to see rocks but once you have seen them, you don’t need to see them again.
Lake Las Vegas is a beautiful place. The trip was tough as I didn’t like the car and I didn’t go potty for about twenty four hours because I could not find grass. I did survive!
In November 2014, we had to go to Florida again! Ugh! We stayed at the Chattanooga Choo Choo train hotel in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It was a pretty cool place with trains everywhere.
July of 2016 took me to Illinois for nose work. Our hotel was right next to the Six Flags Amusement Park.
Madison and I went to BlogPaws in April 2018 which means we visited Kansas City. It sure was a windy place!
September 2022 was my last road trip. Mom said she wanted to see if I would do better being older. Well, major fail, Mom! Still, we road tripped to Montana and I picked up a bunch of new states. It was also a hundred degrees in Montana which I do not like at all either. This photo is Salem Sue, the worlds largest Holstein cow. She is in North Dakota.
We took a photo entering Montana. The road trip was Nelson’s first but he loves to travel. Mom was holding onto us because the sign is right next to a busy highway.
On the way home we passed through Wyoming where Nelson and I donned our cowboy gear. Olivia was in Wyoming before so she didn’t join us. I am happy I have seen so many places but I wish travel didn’t make me feel so awful. Mom didn’t used to take “state” photos, so I don’t have photos of me in every state, but the rest of the family has their photos in all their states. We are losing our pet sitter soon which means I may have to do some traveling. Time will tell how that all works out.
I’m joining my friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard for their Nature Friday blog hop.

Wow – 24 states – you have seen a lot, Bailie, more than me and definitely more than my mom! We loved seeing you in pictures with your angel sissies and we hope your mom can find a new and dependable pet sitter so you don’t have to travel.
We are not sure what we are going to do but Mom is working on it.
ooh you really saw the famousd chattanoga choo choo ? wow!!! so sad that you feel not comfy in cars… hugs…
It makes mom sad too because she loves road trips and all the other dogs have always loved them too. It is a shame the drugs don’t help me out as I like being in new places but I can’t deal with getting there.
Wow is right ~ You are the well traveled dogs ~ great photos ~ good to see new places when you are able ~ hugs to all ~ xo
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

I choose to stay home whenever possible but when I go, I do see some great things.
Sunny agrees with you Bailie, she loves being places, but would rather not be in the car to get there.
I remember that trip to Kansas City for Blog Paws, it sure was fun meeting you and Madison!!
xoxo,
Rosy
We had a great time once I was there but the car thing is horrible. Mom and I are happy we got to meet and hang out too. It is sad that whole thing came to an end. Mom would love to go again but it won’t ever be the same.
Bailie I sure am sorry your don’t enjoy traveling but I COMMEND you for you efforts and how you managed on the trips you took. There are humans who don’t travel well just like you and there is just nothing that can be done.
Very happy Mom and the siblings are there to comfort.
I love the last photo love the cowgirl and cowboy
Hugs Cecilia
We were in the wild west, LOL! New places are great but getting there, not so good.
Losing your pet sitter is the wrist thing that could happen.
Clover gets in a car and poops within two minutes. She doesn’t like it either
I don’t any of the three p’s, poop, pee, puke, but I shake and pant and move around the entire ride even on days where it has been eighteen hours. It makes mom feel bad and nervous.
Mia is over-excited whenever she gets in the car which really annoys out Mom.
Hope you find a wonderful new sitter – we know how difficult it is to train new ones.
We really don’t know what we will do yet. Mom loves traveling so that won’t stop but I may have to go along. We will see.
My goodness, you sure have been lots of places and seen so many interesting things along the way!
It is amazing how much I did travel but the whole thing really makes me feel bad so I prefer to stay home.
You have been on the move. I pray a good pet sitter can be found, or a really good pet hotel where they’d take great care of you.
A pet hotel would not be a good option for me. We will see what Mom can figure out and I may have to travel sometimes.
My goodness you DO get around in spite of your dread of traveling!!! Waiting for that birthday party!
Most of my travel was in the first half of my life until the Montana trip.
We are so sorry how much travel is hard for you. We have a doodle friend in Denver who rode in the car from Denver to the Oregon coast and never stopped panting and couldn’t settle down the whole way. It was so tough. On the way back her human brother held her but still she couldn’t settle. She loved the coast but hated the drive. They don’t take her on long trips anymore.
Sounds like another pup that is just like I am. It is such a bummer and meds didn’t work at all.
You’re such an amazingly well traveled pooch. Sorry you don’t enjoy the getting there part.
I’m miserable and it stresses Mom out too. If only meds would help, but they don’t.
