Today we sort of have some nature and our fill ins are back with our nature spin on the answers. We’ve had so much smoke, then humidity and heat, some rain, it just hasn’t been good for a lot of nature. Mom and Olivia still run every morning and then Nelson and I walk for an hour but there isn’t a lot to see. Our nature this week is this planter we found on our morning walk. Amazingly, the flowers look good and not dead like most do this time of year. It was super humid at 6:30 am, thus the long pink tongues.
Now for the fill ins from 15 and Meowing. Remember we are trying to tie them in with nature.
- Anyone who can _______________________ is a genius in my book.
- I find ___________________ boring.
- I wish I had _________’s ability to _________.
- _________ often distracts me from _________.
Nelson took #1 – Anyone who can catch a squirrel is a genius in my book.
I took #2 – I find walking the same route boring. (FYI, so does Mom so we have a few weeks of routes we rotate through)
Nelson took #3 – I wish I had Mom’s ability to get more of our snacks out of her snack pouch.
I took #4 – Tracking critters often distracts me from coming inside when Mom calls me.
Hopefully the weather will be better in the next week so we can be out and about more. Until then, have a Grand weekend!
I’m joining my friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard for their Nature Friday blog hop.

Great answers, guys! We find walking the same route day after day boring too so we change it up.
So many people walk the same route day in and day out, we could not do that and Mom would lose her mind. Thankfully we have so many routes we don’t do the same one more than every two to three weeks.
nelson we are with you… but we can not even say if we are a genius or not , we have no squirrels here LOL
Mom says Germany didn’t have them on the North Sea coast. You are lucky. They are mean and enjoy teasing dogs.
Totally off kilter comment perhaps: first thought … your two pink tongues sort of bookend the darker pink flowers in between. (sorry my head always goes graphic first and foremost)
You make a very good point, nothing wrong with that.
We agree with you on those routes. We circulate through a few different ones, too.
We feel bad for dogs that do the same walk day in and day out.
Great photo of you two sweet doggies with the beautiful pink flowers matching your pink tongues ~ Great fill ins too ~ hugs,

Lots of long pink tongues right now.
It seems to be hot almost everywhere this week, including here in NM! Great way t fit Nature Friday in though!
Here hoping August brings less smoke and cooler weather!
xoxo,

The smoke with humidity is totally disgusting. We just remember every day of summer is one less day until winter. We’re going to the East Coast in a week, probably won’t be any better there.
Adorable picture and fun fill ins.
Thank you.
Excellent answers – love your picture too!
It was the best we could do with the weather we are having right now.
Nelson those pesky squirrels have had me on the warpath this year. I finally had to trim back some tree branches to keep them from jumping from the tip of the branch to my feeder staff.
Too bad about the treat pouch…
Hugs cecilia
Mom says she is too generous already with giving out snacks but I think we need more.
Squirrels are so mean. They love to tease us like crazy and that makes Mom mad too. At gramma’s house they run all over the roof which makes a lot of noise!
We totally know what you mean about getting bored with the same walk! Mom and I love to switch things up and walk in different directions or different areas. Great post! We had fun reading and thinking about the questions.
Mom says it is good brain work to do those sometimes.
Those were all darn good answers!!!
Thank you.
Great answers but I would have said anyone as cute and clever as all of you is a genus.
But we have not cracked how to capture a squirrel. Some day we will.
The flowers are lovely.
I would imagine Nelson would like to be able to help himself to treats, he’s a good chow hound.
Several routes to walk or run sound like great fun.
I’m all about my snacks and my meals too. Food is one of my favorite things but I work out a lot so I don’t get chubby.
Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. Catching a squirrel sounds pretty hard. 🙂
They are mean and sneaky. One day we hope to capture one!
Nice job with the fill ins. And a lovely pop of color for nature. With the weather being so squirrely (sorry Nelson), it’s hard to get a lot of nature with gthe heat and wildfire smoke but you guys did a pawsome job! Well done.
We did our best. Hopefully this next week will be better.
