I was one happy hound walking along the Vermillion River with my mom earlier this week. We walk along it, and over it a lot where we live, but we found a new trail that walks along it for quite a ways. It was a super fun mom and me outing. This little river also has like a million cute wood bridges crossing over it. We found two more on our walk this time.
It was quite obvious the water level had been up really high after all the snow melted. There was a lot of mud, water lines, and dead stuff lying around on the banks of the little river. Do not be confused. The white “blob” on the right half of the photo is me, Emma!
I found a few dandelions…hello Flower Friday! Somehow, dandelions would not really be grounds to call this a flower post. It is more of a river walk post.
Nice big rocks are always nice to lie down on. They help keep me cool, and I think I look nice “on the rocks”.
On this last bridge, I had some trouble modeling for my photographer. There were some squirrels racing around not far away, and I lost my concentration on the modeling task. It is alright, as I am usually really focused, and we were just out for fun anyway.
Can you tell I was enjoying the time alone with my mom, walking along the Vermillion River? Happy Hound Emma is what I would call myself. It’s always fun to walk somewhere new, especially with my mom!
Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! Stay safe!
When we walk down n Manhattan we see garbage and construction. I think I would rather walk with you. PS The garbage smells delicious. Happy Memorial Day.
LOL! Mom remembers the smells of NY from when she used to go there, and some of the subway stations were especially fragrant. Life in the city is not life in the suburbs, but everyone has a place they enjoy living.
How fun to find a new trail to walk on! You definitely look happy, Emma, and you did some wonderful poses. Who can blame you for being distracted by those squirrels?
Have a great holiday weekend!
Finding a new place to walk is always enjoyable. Squirrels are always irritating. They are so mean, and tease us dogs all the time.

That was a most beautiful walk, Emma – and dandelions are one of my favourite flowers! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Thank you. I like them too, but they are kind of ugly when they die.
Nothing better than finding a great trail like that.
It’s nothing like the amazing places you all get to go walking at, but for suburbia, it is not bad. Minnesota has a lot of parks and nature for us to cover.
oh you sure are da happiest hound of da whole world… we love your river and how peaceful everything is …. a pawfect place for a walk!!!
It was perfect for a hot afternoon with all the shade, and just being with my mom always makes me happy.
You are gorgeous “on the rocks” β₯
LOL! Thank you π
What a great find!! I wish we had better places to walk near us. And like Jan K said, who could blame you for being distracted by those squirrels?! Glad you had a great “just Mom and Me” time!!
Mom wishes she had more time to walk and explore, but that work thing takes up far too much time. Oh well, we do enjoy what we do have time to explore.
What a great walk, have a great weekend.
You guys have a fun weekend too!
You sure look pretty among all the nice green stuff! Have a super fun weekend!
I’m coming up on 12, but I feel more like 5 π
another lovely place to walk! I sooo need to visit Minnesota one day, I know the state is so beautiful!
Full of parks and trails, most of them seem to be dog friendly.
I’m glad that you and your mom had such a special walk together!!!!!
I love my one on one tie with Mom.
You seems like the happiest hound it the world. Lots of love for you.
Sounds like a great Mommy & Me day Emma! We love a walk along the water. This river looks so beautiful, and the photos of you are just gorgeous. I’m glad you enjoyed the adventure and having Mom all to yourself.
Love & Biscuits,
Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Them
I always enjoy getting special treatment.
Wow! Look who is the happiest dog in the earth! Very happy pictures. I just love them.
Thank you. We are all pretty happy pups around here.
