I went looking for August flowers on my morning walk this week. Lots of flowers around here are in bad shape because of all the heat and humidity, but I managed to find some nice ones for you.
First off, I found these pretty pink ones not far from home. I really like the look they have.
Around my area, there are a bizillion snowball bushes, and most of them have white flowers. Depending on what makes up your soil, they are sometimes other colors.
This tree was super pretty. Flowering trees are always so beautiful, but most only flower in the spring it seems.
These round purple/lavender flowers are pretty cute and funny looking if you ask me. I sniffed them, but didn’t smell much of anything. In a way, they look like giant purple dandelions.
Can you believe this beautiful geranium is being stabbed by another plant? Did you know violence exists in the plant world? I sure had no idea.
Black Eyed Susans sure seem to be popular this time of year. These were struggling from the weather, and my furs were struggling with the wind! Still, the flowers look nice.
I got too close to the middle of a flower and it turned my beard orange! The nerve of a common flower to do this to me! Not nice. Mom will most likely force me to shampoo my beard furs now.
Last but not least, I have the pink snowball flowers in front of my house. I’m posting them to warn you, Pink Girl, aka Madison starts her birthday week tomorrow. Be prepared to be blasted with posts from her a lot in the coming week. She will most likely be on my blog, as well as social media. Next Friday, the 10th, she will be two already!
Happy Flower Friday! If you have some flowers, or a flower like topic, join my friends at LLB in the Backyard for the Flower Friday Blog Hop.
we love your flowers… and we like that susan with da black eyes… summer wouldn’t be the same without them ;O)
They are all over the place around here right now.
You did a wonderful job showing us all of those pretty flowers!
Thank you.
I love all your flowers! And I think that flowering tree may be a Crepe Myrtle. It’s difficult to get a good look on the phone screen, but I’m pretty sure that’s what it is.
My birthday week started yesterday – I turn 65 next Wednesday – so Happy, Happy Days to Madison as she turns two!! Madison was born the same day as our furry angel friend, Sugar the Golden Retriever. Just many years later. ❤️❤️
We met Sugar back in 2014, such a sweet girl. I guess it is a good week for birthday week.
That’s a beautiful array you found. I always did like smowball bushes.
They are super pretty, and when you dry them, they make great decorations in the house.
Beautifully flowers. Isn’t nature great!
It sure is!
Oh my cats you found some purrfect posies for posing for pictures.
The first photo is our favorite.
Please tell Madison that I Madi(son) D. Cat send her kitty nose taps for the beginning of her bday week
Hugs Madi
Madison likes kitties, so she will appreciate those taps.
Your flowers are beautiful. The gardeners replanted new flowers in our neighborhood flower beds. We are anxious to see what blooms. I can’t believe Madison is already going to be two! WOW!
It is amazing! Mom is kind of sad, but Madison is happy and healthy, and that is what matters.
Lots of pretty flowers today. Gail and I do enjoy seeing each week what’s in bloom in different parts of the world, so thank you for taking us on this walk with you.
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
Things are different around the world. We lived in Germany where things were different from here.
Good choice of flowering and seeding plants. that tree is a maple and those red winged things are not flowers, but seeds. My mom is always getting on us about which things we can eat on walks on in the garden depending on when they bloom and fruit, I have a bad habit of “pruning” shrubs back too far for them to survive. Elbe
We don’t eat plants, just grass. Mom has no clue what plants and trees are what, but we enjoy looking at them.
What pretty flowers! We love this post. Hope the bath for the beard wasn’t too yucky. We can’t wait to see how the wild child celebrates her birthday! Oh lordy! Hold on for dear life!!! Have a great weekend Emma. Your doodle friend Dash
The beard is a big mess. Last night my beard on that side and part of me ear were glowing gold. Mom shampooed it again today and it is still there, just not quite as bright. How embarrassing! I’m sure Madison will find a way to have a wild week! TGIF
We really love your pink snowballs Emma…We really enjoyed all your morning walk flowers!
xoxo,
Rosy, Arty & Jakey
Thank you. Those pink ones are super pretty!
Those are quite the flower finds! That tree is really pretty – and it looks like those are actually seed pods that make the pretty red?
Those first pink flowers look like the phlox we have here. They come in a lot of different shades of pink, but we don’t have one that dark.
We are forewarned about pink overload, and look forward to the fun! 🙂
You know your plants! We have no idea, but several have concurred with your analysis 🙂 Now on to pink week.
Gorgeous flowers! Sorry about the staining by that flower. Your mom will take care of it for you. I hope that you still love the flowers!!!
I now have a glowing gold beard on one side. We can’t get it to go away, but hopefully time is on our side.
Such pretty flowers!
Thank you.
LOL, I like your orange chin. Love the flowering tree and of course, always enjoy black-eyed susans
That orange spread to my whole beard and part of me ear on that one side. Quite the mess!
You have a beautiful garden with such pretty flowers.
We just have some potted flowers and bushes, but there are a lot of pretty flowers out on our walks.
Thanks for sharing all the beautiful flowers during a hot and humid August month so far. Glad that plenty of the flowers are still looking healthy. We can just blame that wind for that hair go up photo. The photos were all lovely. Have a great day.
It’s hard to keep furs in order with heavy wind. The flowers thankfully came back after the terrible heat.
Thank you for the reply. That heavy wind can sometimes mess up those furs during a photo, lol. Glad the flowers are making it through this summer heat. It’s been great to talk to you and hope to see more great posts from you soon. Have a wonderful day.
Wowzers such beauty!
