It’s a beautiful day for a birthday! Today we are celebrating Mom’s special day. We all are doing our part to make sure she has a great day today! She always does so much for us, it’s the least we can do to help her have the best day!
This is the birthday girl. No, the photo is not recent. I had to go box diving in the basement to find this one. We are not sure how old Mom really is because we can’t count that high. She is old, and has mentioned being as old as the speed limit, but that doesn’t help us much since there are a lot of speed limit signs when we drive. I think she says she feels like 35, so we will go with that number for today.
Olivia tried really hard to take a nice birthday photo for Mom. She first had to overcome the fear of the gift bag, and then wear a party hat. It didn’t take her long, and she was modeling like a big girl.
Bailie is always ready to celebrate anything she can find. Lately she has been a bit grumpy, so it is no surprise she wanted to make old age jokes about Mom with her photo. We are just happy she was enjoying herself.
Olivia and I were in charge of Mom’s birthday gift. I wanted to show Olivia how to order stuff online, but I think she is still too young for that. Her attention span was about zero, and she said it was super boring shopping on line.
I continued, as I knew exactly what the perfect gift would be. Meanwhile, Olivia had all she could do to stay on the chair with me, and she used the party hat as a toy. You will have to check back on Thursday to see what we ordered for Mom. All I can tell you is that she absolutely loves it!
Bailie was in charge of cake and ice cream since she has her driver’s license. We know Mom loves Small Cakes in Apple Valley, so Bails went there to get what we needed. Of course, the most chocolatey cupcakes were a must, and then she got some birthday cake ice cream. We dogs can have some pupcakes since the stuff Mom loves is not for dogs.
Birthday gift – check. Cake and ice cream – check. Party supplies – check. It looks like a beautiful day for a birthday at our house. We know Mom will enjoy her day as long as we are with her.

Bailie and Oliver it looks like you have all bases covered for the birthday girl. I hope she has a splendid time celebrating, as I often remind folks lucky enough to see another year, it’s better than the alternative. Those dirt naps really know how to kill one’s plans. 🙂 Age is a mindset in my opinion. True, we notice some limitations every year that passes but darn it if my brain never gets that memo. Although I wasn’t doing anything abnormal but the nasty fall I took in January has me taking steps more carefully whereas I used to run up them. Oh, well…I’m gonna say HAPPY BIRTHDAY and may you have many, many more!
Mom breaking her ankle made her more cautious in the winter months. Age is a state of mind.

Next time we need a “party planner” we now know were to go! But one thing has us wondering … 35 and then the bag says “over the hill” … we feel obligated to mention that 35 is NOT over the hill! So, you cannot have it both ways, and we strongly suggest for the sake of maintaining harmony in the household you go with the “former” and dump the latter.
For a dog, 35 is more over the mountain, so we know she is up there somewhere 😉

It’s amazing how old moms can be, but they don’t really seem that old! You two will need to plan for your mom’s birthday whenever it comes around.
Your mom has taught you well to be kind and generous. Olivia is a hoot in her “nose cone,” Bailie is just a “plain hoot”!!! She is hysterical to watch. And you seem to be the real one in charge – cool,calm, and collected. Tell your mom HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS!! We know there are speed limits when going over any hill. Maybe that is what she meant?

I am the one who is pretty much in charge around here, even though I’m not the oldest or biggest. Bailie just has fun, and Olivia is way too young.

We had a nice quiet day for mom, including a nose work class. Any day we hang out together is always a good day.

No new car. We’ve had this one over two years now. It would be fun if Mom would wear an outfit like in the photo, wouldn’t it, LOL!
