A walk in the park can be fun and provide some good exercise for dogs and their humans. Saturday was my turn for a mommy and me day. On the way to Gramma’s house, we stopped at a smaller park to take a quick walk because it was such a beautiful day. There were a lot of squirrels out getting exercise too, which kept me really busy!
When we are one on one with Mom, it is fun to do things that are difficult to do with more than one dog. We came across this really big rock. Mom thought I should stand on it. As she went to pick me up, I jumped up on my own. The rock was was a little bit slippery, and the standing space was not level, so I did get to work on my balance…while watching for squirrels, of course.
It seems like they need to come in and do some clean up work in this little wooded area. There were lots of trees down, and piled up. I don’t mind to climb around on them. Most of the time I can smell the critters really well, which I love.
There were a couple benches along the way for people to sit on and rest. For me the weather was on the warm side. Being so short, all the heat comes up and hits my belly causing me to be warmer than many other dogs. I took a short break on one of the benches.
We found one more rock for me to climb on and work my core muscles. This one was real tricky as the slant was pretty steep. I still managed to hang on for a little while. It was so pretty in the woods with everything turning green.
Once we hit Gramma’s house, I spent a lot of time on her screen porch watching the squirrels in the trees. It was my first time visiting without cousin Bowie which was strange for me. I gave Gramma lots of extra loving in between my squirrel watching.

I think the most beautiful object in the woods was YOU, Madison! You took extra special care of your Gramma, and for that I love you more than I already did. XOXO, Sparkle
We all love our Gramma a lot. It’s best when we visit just one at a time so we don’t overwhelm her with our loves.
So sweet! <3
Thank you.
π <3 !
Iβm happy to hear you are taking good care of grandma.
We love to visit her and make her smile.
what a wonderful walk… and what a sweet way to remember your friend Bowie…
It was odd without him there. He was with Gramma long before my sisters and I were even born.
What a nice walk, bet it was nice to get out in the fresh air.
We still go out for our long walks and runs every day, but it’s fun to walk in other places sometimes.
That looks like it was a fun walk and you sure did a great job balancing on that rock!
Sometimes the big rocks can be a bit tricky.
Awww, how fun and squirrel watching too. I’m glad you gave grandma extra love too. She needed it.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. My best to your siblings and your wonderful mom. β₯
Gramma has way too many squirrels so there are always plenty to keep us entertained. She likes to watch me watch all the squirrels.
What a fun walk! Thanks for sharing it with us, that doggy smile just says it all!
I do kind of smile sometimes.
I wish we had places like those woods around here! I bet your Gramma really loves having you girls around to give her extra special love!
She loves to see us. Now with us going just one at a time it is even better because we don’t overwhelm her with our loving.
squirrel watching is very fun for everyone!
I know. Who wouldn’t enjoy watching squirrels?
What a wonderful Mama and Me day you had Madison, and what a super model you have turned out to be!!

I really like modeling when I am the only one. It is much more fun.
What a lovely place to walk and get some exercise. Glad you are helping your Gramma be not so lonely.
She needs extra loves right now.
What a fun walk for you, Madison, and I bet gramma appreciated the extra loving you gave her.
She loves to see me, and I am a really good girl when I visit too.
It has to be a real balancing act for your mom with three of you!
Never thought before about dogs needing core work, but it does make sense. Happy Monday!
We do need core work. I did a lot more with it when I was doing agility as we need it for balancing.
She calls it mix and match. It all works out quite well.
I know your Gramma appreciated the extra love. Squirrels are getting too bold!
I think they get worse every year.
What a beautiful walk, and good job getting some extra workouts in there too. Your Gramma really has the perfect porch for squirrel watching. We’re glad you gave her some company, we’re sure it’s quiet without Bowie there.
Bowie wasn’t out with us all that much, but we always loved finding where he was hiding to say hi, but now he is no longer there.
Oh ~ you are such a precious doggie and wonderful photos of you ^_^

Thank you.
We love walks too! The outdoors is one of the most beautiful things on this planet! And all the smells there are to sniff!
Being outdoors is the absolute best!
Nice pictures of you, was it warm, your tongue is hanging out, lol !
It wasn’t as warm as summer, but still a bit on the warm side for me.
