Boone Iowa was the destination for our weekend road trip this last weekend. Although it may not be the most exciting spot on the planet, it has a couple fun thing to see. We tried hopping on the caboose. Olivia didn’t like it and wanted to get off.
Our favorite find is the mural next to the caboose. Isn’t it fantastic! You know we always enjoy finding fun murals. Boone is a big place for trains if you are into seeing lots of them!
By accident we stumbled onto Mamie Doud Eisenhower’s birthplace. Of course it was closed, but I doubt it would be dog friendly anyway.
This plaque was out in front of the house. This was a find we had no idea about, similar to last year when we found the birthplace of John Wayne by accident. You never know what you might find on a road trip!
The sightseeing tour around Boone Iowa was at the end of the day while we waited for my master Q ribbon. We then headed out to the hotel where we totally crashed. The day was long, but super fun, and successful.

Looks like you had some fun!! And were exhausted! Its fun to see Mamie Eisenhower’s birthplace βwe lived near Mamie Eisenhower’s girlhood home in Denver! We canβt wait to hear more about Fastcat!
FastCAT is crazy amazing, possibly our very favorite thing to do! We had no idea about Mamie Eisenhower being born in Boone, but internet was not good, so we just drove around and stumbled upon the place.
You guys always find cool things to do!
We try to find fun stuff to make traveling more interesting.
You dogs are great to stay in place for a photo shoot. I’m afraid Lucy would get the scent of something, the hunt would be on and the photo session would be over. Have a blessed week.
We started posing for photos at 9 weeks old, so we know the drill and do pretty well staying put.
oh wow the train looks like real… that is fantastic!!!
We really like the train mural.
That looks like a really cool place to explore girls!
Cute little Iowa farm town.
You do find the coolest things on your travels! The caboose reminded my mom of a book she had as a little girl “The Little Red Caboose Always Comes Last.” She was also a little girl when Mamie Eisenhower was First Lady. She’s so old! XOXO, Sparkle
Our mom is old too. We love to find fun stuff on our travels when we can.
I love going on your road-trips with your mom. Always fun. I’m glad you two had a fun weekend. You’re both so cute.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches to the pups and my best to your mom. β₯
Thank you. We love our road trips. Nothing this week, but one more after that for now.
What a lovely trip! Of course the best part of those photos are those sweet pups!
Thank you.
We do love trains and that mural is awesome!
Mom says it is one of the best murals she has ever seen.
Mamie Eisenhower’s house is just too cute! You girls have the bestest adventures!
We wonder how it looked inside, but we had to stay outside the fence line.
Exploring can be such fun, i am glad you found nice places to see.
It’s always fun to find new things in new places.
Small town, not a lot around, but we still found a couple fun things.
Some great photo ops.
We really like the train mural.
You girls always find something fun and interesting, even in quiet and boring places! We thought that train mural was a real train for a second. π
That mural was amazing!
