Canine text is a thing at our house. Despite Olivia and I loving to be together all the time, sometimes we are not together. One of us may have a class and the other stays home. Sometimes I don’t feel like going outside, but Olivia does. For these occasions it is good we each have our own cellphone so we can text if needed.
Being the only dog outside can get boring. Olivia gets bored and starts making noise, so I might text her to see what is going on or to let her know Mom is mad about her being loud. Just as humans have their texting language, we dogs do as well. Texting is hard enough without thumbs so we like to keep things short.
I took a screenshot of our short conversation the other day. Can you figure out what we are texting about? In case you can’t translate our canine text abbreviations, I have the translation for you below.
Olivia, what are you doing in the yard?
Hi Madison, you should join me. I’m howling at everything.
Why are you doing that? Squirrel in tree?
No, I hear a delivery truck.
Watch out mom is coming!!! You are in trouble now!
I’ll pretend it’s not me and I’m munching on grass.
Wait, I’m howling out loud now too. The delivery truck is here!
Time for treats! I need to come inside now!
Do your dogs enjoy texting too? What are their favorite canine text abbreviations?
My GBGV Life is happy, so weβre joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
Just adorable.
That is just how we are π
That was too funny, good job with the texts!
We have to stay in touch!
This is soooo funny!
We are silly girls.
“TFT” is a popular abbreviation for all pets! LOL!!!
One of the most important ones for sure!
I’m so glad you translated for us. Some I sort of got and some not at all. I love your texting.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches all around and my best to your fun mom. β₯
Texting can come in real handy and we love the shortcuts.
OMD! I go absolutely crazy wild when a DTA! Loved your chat! XOXO Sparkle
We hear them coming from miles away and start going crazy. It’s a real bummer when they don’t stop at our house, though. Hope you all get a good delivery today!
ha that’s the pawfect conversation… da phenny is da texter here, but apart from sending cryptical messages to all contacts he texted not much ;O)
We don’t have too many contacts in our phones which keeps our paws out of a lot of trouble!
You girls are so cute. I have trouble texting too. Those little spaces are hard to hit. Glad you translated for us humans, we don’t speak dog.
Texting is tough but the shortcuts make it easier.
What a wonderful idea to text each other! You girls are just the cats pajamas!
It comes in handy.
Thank you for the translations! You girls are too cute!
If you are not a dog, you may not use the short codes we use.
Cinnamon does not text, but the cats do. I had to cancel their contract as they kept getting data overages. Barb
Leave it to the felines to spend the money! We keep it reasonable.
You girls are lucky! Sunny and I want our own phones!!
xoxo,
Rosy
You should have your own phones it is really nice to have contact when you are apart.
What a great way to inject some fun in your day!
Fun is what we love!
I have trouble enough with the abbreviations humans use – you dogs definitely have a language all your own! π
We do have our own language and we love it.
We’re jealous. We’re not allowed to have our own phones or even borrow the folk’s. Afraid we’re not up to date on all the new abbreviations for texting. You girls rock! XOX and BOL, Lucy and Xena
We get the old phones and Mom isn’t a big fan of phones anyway, so she lets us use hers too sometimes.
