On the weekend we took a two day trip to Shawano, Wisconsin for my third Elite Nose Work Trial. We have never been there before, so we didn’t know what to expect. Upon entering the town, we found out it is the Barn Quilt Capital of Wisconsin.
Friday afternoon we spent some tome in the old part of town. One thing we found by accident, was one of the most popular Instagram photo sites. It is pretty cool to see in person, the Barn Quilt and the bicycle up on the side of the building.
A fun store with all kinds of crazy stuff has this cute mural with the hearts on the side. Of course, we had to take a photo with it.
Since the whole trip to Shawano was for me and my Elite Trial, Mom wanted to take a photo of me at the train station. She can be so silly!
The weather on Friday was so beautiful, but Saturday was a different story. Saturday was cold and rainy, actually it poured most of the day. My trial was at Camp Tekakwitha on a lake. With all the rain, it got pretty muddy and sandy by the end of the day.
My first search turned out to be a disaster as Mom really messed it up. She decided we needed to do my next three searches perfectly to make up for the mess. Guess what? My last three searches were perfect! And best of all, I earned third place in my theater search! Overall, I placed ninth in the trial out of thirty dogs which isn’t too bad.
I’m the only dog in the family to ever earn any placements in nose work, and this is my first one in Elite. Hopefully Mom will get better at calling hides faster and I can earn even more of these pretty ribbons. Despite being cold and soaking wet, the trial was super fun and the two day trip was really nice. Now we will be home for two months at least before we do any more traveling. It’s time to take a break from riding in the car!
My GBGV Life is happy, so weβre joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
oooh we love that camp… and we say congrats for 3 super searches!!!!
How fun and I’m glad you that three successes after that first failure. No surprise to me. Thanks for taking us along.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
It’s not easy with Mom as my teammate. She just doesn’t have the talent I do.
You get to go to so many photogenic places! Congrats on your pretty new ribbon!
Thank you. We do go to a lot of places for sure.
Atta girl! Sometimes you are the teacher and Mom is the student. You clean up good! XOXO Sparkle
Mom is always the student when it comes to sniffing. At least she tries hard but I have to work extra hard to help her out.
Well done…thank mom for taking such good photos too. I like the barns with the quilting art on them. We have lots of those in the mountains of NC
Hugs Cecilia
They are pretty interesting and we never knew what they were for or called.
Congratulations, Olivia, and that’s a very pretty ribbon! Love the quilt art!
The quilt things on barns are really fun to see.
Shawano looks like a fun place…our Mama would also have had us taking all the silly photos, BOL!
Congrats on a great job Olivia..I bet you get your Mama fully trained real soon!!

We still have sports pretty much every weekend, but locally. It will be nice to be home for a while.
WOW-ZERS! Great shots esp at the railroad station!
It’s an interesting place, but old and kind of a resort town type thing.
That’s a really cool place and congrats on the placement, ya sure done good!
Thank you. Mom was super surprised when we got a placement.
Way to go!
