After Thanksgiving dinner at our house it is time to rest, or completely crash out. Our bellies are full, even over full, the house is warm, and we exhausted from entertaining most of the day. Getting all curled up and snuggled in for a nice nap is ideal.
Thanksgiving was rather warm this year, but still, the fireplace makes things feel more cozy. The humans enjoy a nap on the floor after dinner. When they vacate the spot, Madison and Bert swoop in and take their own snooze in the comfort of the fire.
Madison can only stay by the fireplace so long and it begins to get too warm for her. Cat bro Bert can stay there in the heat forever it seems. He doesn’t even move when Mom turns the fireplace off.
Of course, Nelson doesn’t like the heat. He has his spot by the sliding glass door on the rug. Note he lays right up against the cold glass.
Once the guests are gone and we all have helped Mom clean up the mess in the kitchen, it is time to head up to bed. Bailie and I go up to bed early to get things warmed up for Mom. Resting after a big meal is so nice. We all had our raw food but for breakfast, with eggs and for dinner with green tripe. It was sure yummy food! Today we will get started with decorating for Christmas, so we need our rest both after Thanksgiving dinner and overnight.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving weekend!
