Welcome to winter dirt and some other fun finds. Mom and I had a nice walk in the woods on the weekend, but the weather was warm. Warm weather means melting and a huge mess of slop to walk through. Look at my belly and legs…I look like a real dirt ball! Can you say major clean up coming up!
In the woods it is pretty clean and the snow cleans off some of the dirt I was dragging around on my under furs. They are doing a lot of work in the forest so there are a lot of trees lying around for me to climb on.
We like taking the smaller off road paths through the trees. In the woods the snow really makes it beautiful and peaceful.
Now for the fun things we found on our walk. Mom has walked in wooded areas all her life, but she has never ever seen someone with a large canvas, easel, and painting equipment. This guy was painting a gorgeous woods scene. We didn’t want to bother him, so we took this photo from a distance. It is super cool to see him in the midst of nowhere painting away.
Winter dirt aside, my favorite fun find on our walk is this Charlie Brown tree. It is out in the front yard of this house with the one, lone, red ornament. We love the idea and I bet lots of people recognize the tree. After this photo, it was back to Gramma’s house for my big clean up!

Yup, you did get dirty but we know that you had fun doing it, Bailie! How neat to see an artist at work! We love your one lone Christmas ornie!
The painter in the woods was really neat to see. I guess there will always be new things to see in the world.
that is a sweet charlie brown tree… and we love your snow-photos… although winter is not really our season :O)))
We know, so we enjoy winter for you as we don’t like summer at our house. Charlie Brown’s tree was so fun to find.
Very nice photos; you will clean up just fine! That charlie brown tree is just a baby! watch it over the years, it will grow.
We are sure it will be a nice tree one day, but for now we love that the people are using it as a Charlie Brown tree.
Artists and Charlie Brown trees! Oh my!!! Those were worth the bath required for getting muddy
The clean up was a project, but these things do happen.
Melting snow and dirt βsnitβ as we call it in New York is not fun.
It is why we don’t enjoy spring much until it is almost over. We end up with such snit for weeks around here. Mom is always washing our towels because we go through so many.
We think if you had stayed around and about the artist may have included you in his painting …
One never knows, but we didn’t want to bother the man and we had to get back to Gramma’s because Mom had a lot of work to do for her.
WOW I hope the artist had some antifreeze in his paint. Never have I seen that either.
Did you have dipping pail for your pawsβ€

We are wondering because it was around freezing out, and it was misting on and off. When we walked by him, close up, the painting looked fabulous. He has obviously done outdoor winter painting before.
What a wonderful walk! The man painting is such a cool thing to find!! Hope you had a good bath and a great nap after. have a great day. your friends Chester and Lilly
I had a great nap, but baths are never great. We were at Gramma’s, so I got a good rub down to clean up my furs. Thankfully it wasn’t all frozen on me, so it came off pretty well and then Mom washed the floor from all my dripping.
I’m happy you took me along and I smiled when I saw the Charlie Brown tree. Adorable you are and that tree.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
Mom saw that tree from a long distance and knew exactly what it was. It made us smile.
What a beautiful walk…so worth the clean up time!
xoxo,
Sunny
PeeEss…I really like the Charlie Brown tree too!!
We all love Snoopy and the gang at our house, so it was a special find. Getting cleaned up is not fun, but worth it.
Muddy but still cute! Love the Charlie Brown tree.
Those folks are very fun people I guess. What a great idea for a scrawny new tree π
I do not know who is cuter ….you or the tree! Hah! You are cuter- even with a bit of mud! Cheers!
Lots of wet dripping mud and dirt on my undercarriage, but I do clean up pretty well.
You look like you were having such a fun time gathering up some dirt and mud.
I did have a really good time, but the clean up wasn’t a lot of fun.
What a great walk! I think kids and pets gauge how much fun they had by how messy they get.
That is a very good point. The mess doesn’t bother me at all, but it sure is not something my mom likes.
Cinnamon LOVES to get cleaned up after she comes home dirty…she LOVES the warm spray in the bathtub and especially the towelling. She loves getting towelled after she comes in all snowy and wet when its rainy and after swims! Cinnamon can’t wait for it to get warm enough for her to get a bath after a walk. You sure look like you had a blast and even though our Mom loves to paint – she’s not into painting outside when its this cold. She has a ton of respect for those that do! Keep on having fun in the snow guys! Purrs Marv
I do not like clean up at all. None of us like to get a bath, but we don’t mind the toweling off. We have never seen anyone out in the cold painting, so it interesting, but it would be a lot of work to stay warm and to haul all the stuff he had with him out into the woods.
While you may be a dirtball, you’re one of the cutest we’ve seen. It’s ‘impawtant’ to enjoy life and you obviously do.
Mom isn’t a fan of dirt, but as long as we have fun getting dirty, she doesn’t mind having to clean us up.
