Spring sniffing is the best sniffing in my opinion. When things thaw, all the smells start to come out of the ground and the smells are amazing. Mom gets mad on our walks as we never put our heads up because we are so busy sniffing. We also love eating the fresh grass, grazing like cattle according to Mom. That also makes her mad because it often causes us to toss it up, usually when we get home and on the carpeting.
My furs are all curly because of all the rain we have had and we are also having to deal with being toweled down whenever we come back inside. It doesn’t matter because spring sniffing is so much fun right now, it is worth any hassle or trouble we might get into. The only thing that beats it is doing my nose work and I get to do that in a few days and I can’t wait!

Sniffing is fun and I love eating grass too but my mom doesn’t like it because she is afraid that I am searching for something not so good for me. Love your curly furs, Olivia!
Mom doesn’t like it because I usually end up puking. We only do it in the spring for some reason.
My last and much loved (nearly 18 years) pupper was a hunting-bred beagle, Chessie (Chesapeake Red). Always said she walked on “five feet” for that little nose was always on the ground.
This time of year it drives our mom crazy but the rest of the year we don’t have it down all the time.

Park which we go everyday, is great. New York City streets not so much.
No, the streets are only interesting if a critter recently ran over the road.
YES!!! Spring Sniffing is really important around here as well; we are even finding bugs already! Gotta keep those sniffers in top condition, and the Spring grass is so yummy – going down and coming up.
Mom is not amused by our love of spring salads from nature.

We are all nose down right now. Mom says it is a wonder we don’t scratch the black off our noses having them on the ground all the time.
Mostly our Mom lets us sniff on our walks, but there are things that she would rather we not stop to sniff….
Well, those things are the best things like dead critters but not allowed. Mom wants us to walk and not just sniff.

We love it too, Mom not so much. All the people in the world become fitness and walking people for about two weeks and we can’t get our noses off the ground. Mom prefers to walk really, really early in the morning to avoid everyone and just a short walk before dinner. We can get back to normal again soon. Our noses will also get used to things soon we think.

We just love it but Mom finds it terrible since we have to have our noses down.
You’re so right, spring smells ARE the best…and not just because of the flowers which you hoomans like. Us dogs like the smells in the soil.
