Last week our friends came up to visit with their new black lab puppy, Quinn. I’m not a fan of a bunch of dogs, so I stayed in the house, enjoying the A/C. Bailie was not able to hang out with the friends because of her leg injury, so Madison was in charge of entertaining. She was curious about Quinn right off the bat.
Being a social girl, Madison loves to entertain friends, but she isn’t around ten week old puppies normally. She was a bit unsure at first, and Quinn was a bit leery about Madison wanting to play. Madison did her play bows, but Quinn wasn’t quite ready to let loose.
Going for a walk is a great ice breaker, so Madison took Quinn for a short sniff tour in the yard. Such cute little behinds they have while sniff walking!
It was super hot and humid out, over 100 with the heat index. A gracious hostess always offers a beverage, and Madison did. I guess she didn’t know labs love to play in the water, more than drinking it.
They did some more sniffing and walking before Quinn’s siblings came in to join the party. You can see they liked each other, and got along perfectly.
Luckily there was a lot of shade under the birch tree. Everyone gathered around the water bowl to stay cool. Note, the lab found a ball, and is keeping it close. Madison met Quinn’s siblings when she was still a puppy, so they are good friends.
Trying to get some more fun into the day, Madison took off running laps with the Frisbee. No one wanted to join in. They all said it was much too hot out.
After about two hours outside, it was time for Quinn and his siblings to pack up and head home. Everyone was hot, and exhausted, but they all had a good time. Before leaving, Mom insisted on a nice group shot. Of course, Madison had to let that mile long tongue hang out, but it is becoming her trademark, so why not! What a fun time they all had.
What a great day you all had, Madison you took care of little Quinn really well.
She wasn’t too wild with him, and they had fun together.
Aw, Madison is such a good hostess!! Looks like everyone had fun despite the heat and humidity.
She is very nice with other dogs, and they all had fun.
Looks like you all had a great time together π Making new friends is always such fun. Milo,Jet & Arli
It’s always good to remember how to socialize with a puppy too.
How fun! Looks like a real great pawty.
Madison pretty much passed out after they all left.

He’s the black dog in the family! His siblings are all older, so I think he enjoyed hanging out with Madison.
How completely ADORABLE this is!!!! Wow you sure had a yard full of dogs! Beautiful ones too!! Quinn is just darling!
We love having friends to visit, well, my sisters love it. Next time Bailie will be able to help with the hostess job.
That head tilt Quinn is sporting in the last shot has Mama doing the puppy squees! What a fun way to tire…I mean a fun way to spend an afternoon. I’m with you Emma, gimme my bed and a cool breeze over puppies any day!

Arty
Humans love puppies and head tilts really seal up the deal! Puppies are just trouble if you ask me, but my sisters enjoy friends of any age.
That looks like a great time! It is obvious that you have shared your hostess with mostest secrets with your little sister. β₯
That Madison is a smart cookie and learns without us even knowing. She did a fantastic job with the guests.
Madison was a great host and Quinn and crew had a great time Thank you Joy and Madison!
Thanks for visiting. Hopefully Bailie will be able to join the fun next time.
It’s hard work being a good hostess, no wonder Madison’s tongue was hanging out! Good job covering for everyone, Madison…what a cute group of friends you have!
Madison always loves to take charge no matter where she is, so hosting a party was a natural thing for her!
That little lab face!! What a cutie. That sure is a passel of dogs!
Leave it to Madison to head up such a group of pups!
