Pretty ribbons is something we are getting used to when Olivia goes to nose work trials. This past weekend Olivia and I were at nose work element trials. It was a lot of fun despite being really hot weather. The trials were held at a church school. Both of us each got to do a search in a real sanctuary which is something most dogs never get to do! Of course, there were classrooms, hallways, and the gymnasium as well.
Friday morning started with me being dog in white for the Level 1 Interior Trial. With my freshly groomed furs, I was shiny white for my job! In case you don’t know, the dog in white is the test dog. I got to run all four searches to make sure they were set up so dogs could find the hides the way the certifying official intended. It was fun and I found all the hides. Three searches were in classrooms and one was in a locker room. Mom says I did a great job and she is super proud of me.
Olivia had her Level 2 Interior Trial in the afternoon. She had four searches with a total of eight hides. In Element Trials, the time limits are shorter which makes them easier for fast dogs like Olivia, but harder for slower dogs like me. Olivia did an amazing job finding all eight hides and she earned her L2I Title.
Mom felt they were pretty slow on a couple of the searches, so when the results were posted she was totally surprised! Olivia placed first! It is especially exciting because she not only placed first, but she was 34 seconds faster than the second place dog and she beat several very experienced dogs by even more time. Titles are the goal, but when she can be so speedy and title, it is really fun! She also earned first place in her Level 1 Exterior Trial back in May.
Getting the title and first place made Mom so happy, we stopped at the bakery to get some special treats to celebrate. It’s really not a bad thing to have a successful sister!
Deciding what to have for a treat is so hard. In the end, Olivia decided on Woofie Pies. Of course, we always get three and Bailie definitely deserves one even though she was at home all day. The problem with the things we get at the bakery is they are way too yummy. The Woofie Pies were eaten in mere seconds. Very tasty treats for sure!
Saturday morning Olivia had her Level 1 Container Trial. She had four searches, each with one hide. She rocked three of the four searches but the one with the boxes on chairs presented a team challenge. Olivia went right to it, but Mom didn’t call it. It took them a long time to get back to it and actually call it. But, the title is what matters most, not the time and Olivia adds L1C to her list of titles.
My turn came again in the afternoon with Level 2 Containers. I found all eight hides in four searches. Can you see Mom and I are having fun? Unfortunately, Mom and I had communication issues as we did the week before. I found the box on the chair but didn’t properly let her know and she didn’t call it because she was unsure. The plan was to go back and call it, but we ran out of time. Still, I earned a leg towards my title which is great. Now we need to find another trial. I did have one fast search where I placed sixth. The pretty ribbons all belong to Olivia, but she deserves them. Olivia is a true nose work lover, and she is very good at her job. We have no doubt she will continue to rock the sniffing world as she gets more and more experience under her furs and more trials to enter. All in all, we had a near perfect weekend with friends, sniffing, and lots of successes!
My GBGV Life is happy, so weβre joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
That was quite the fun weekend you two and big congrats on all of those titles and pretty ribbons!
Olivia is working hard at keeping our walls decorated.
What a grand weekend you girls had!
We love to have Grand weekends!
So proud of all three but mmo my needs to pick up her game calls
Madison also needs to be better at telling or not leaving until Mom calls hides. I always make it very clear.
Olivia, you rock! What a nose and you have great communication skills. I like your Woopie Pie reward.. Yum! I’m sorry Madison did not communicate as well. XOXO Sparkle
Madison likes to be secretive and it makes it hard for Mom but they will keep working on it.
You are all amazing, but Olivia is a superstar. I could see that long ago and I think everyone else knows it after this successful weekend.
It was great of mom to get treats from the bakery for you too. You certainly earned them.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
The trip to the bakery was great. We got to taste lots of samples, get petted a lot and bring home yummy treats. Olivia just keeps getting better and Mom is getting better at her part of the team as well.
Indeed, a GRAND weekend. Such a win!
We love Grand weekends!
Both of you girls did fantastic work and you definitely earned those yummy woofie pies!
We did both work hard, and technically, Madison earned her title, but her team human messed that up. The treats were really a nice end to the day.
Wow that is super! Congratulations
Thank you.
Congratulations to you and Olivia for all that hard work and those pretty ribbons. You share such marvelous photos. Thanks!
Thank you. We love photos, but that is kind of obvious.

Olivia is her own hound and she loves sniffing more than anything. Mom has a lot of fun with her and their team is pretty successful so far.

That is so cool! Furballz are really the bestest toys and now you know that too! Maybe he will let you borrow it when he is napping sometime?
It is a hard days work
It may not seem hard, but sniffing is mentally exhausting.
It’s a joy to read about how much fun you have with your searches, the awards are a bonus. Congratulations!
Thank you. We have a lot of fun at our trials and pretty ribbons only add to the fun.
And don’t forget those lucious treats y’all got! Olivia, you rock, girl! XOX Xena and Lucy
My sisters are learning to stand behind me since I’m bringing home extra treats!
We are so furry happy that you guys did so well in your trials! We are amazed at what you guys do. And those Woofie Pies look delicious…Cinnamon is drooling all over the keyboard!
The Woofie Pies were amazing but they were gone way too fast! It was a fun sniffing weekend.
congrats to you all and a special congrats to your Olivia!!! how great that your weekend was such a fab one!!!
It is getting to be normal for Olivia. We hope she keeps it up!
What a great weekend overall! Maybe Olivia needs to share some of her secrets with you, Madison! As long as you got the goodies, that’s what counts! π
I’d rather have a woofie pie than a ribbon. Ribbons don’t taste good at all!
Huge congratulations!
Thank you.
